I had the same problem, Tilt the lawnmower on it's side air filter facing up and remove air filter cover and air filter then remove the fuel bowl underneath the carb; then clean the fuel bowl with some gas and a clean rag. For the next step be sure to aim blower tip at target then look away before pressing trigger, this will prevent gasoline form getting into your eyes.Take an air compressor and carefully clean out the carb where the flap is and the tube where the fuel float that would rest inside fuel bowl is. Leave on side install everything back except for air filter and cover. Then pour a little gas in the carb to prime it, lay the lawnmower back on all 4 wheels and try to start.

In most cases it's not enough to just dump the gas out of the float bowl. The problem is that the gas has turned to varnish and varnish is sticky. It will put a nice coating over all the the interior of the carb. The only way to clean it is to dismantle it completely. This means removing the float bowl and float. Along with the needle.The important thing is that both the float and needle move freely and both the high and low idle screws are clean. Depending on the type of fuel filter you may also need to remove and clean it as well. If it is not an inline filter it most likely is located inside the tank. As long as your careful not to tear the float bowl gasket you shouldn't require a rebuild kit for the carb.

Throttle cable stuck ,or carby ,spray cable with WD40 and work the leaver back and forth,check carby to make sure a return spring hasn't come off,is the motor a Brigs and Stratton. Make sure the leaver at carby it moving whilst you are working the cable leaver,good luck.

Replace the damaged pulley is the best answer. Don't know which pulley you are talking about as it has 2, 1 on the motor shaft and 1 on the transmission. Most have a set screw which hold them in place on the shaft, usually will be an allen type screw.

pull it out and look at it there are two marks a high and low level keep oil near high do not overfill

check to see if excessive dirt is in the drive wheel dogs clean them this is a problem with there design

get on level ground pull the dipstick out and read the level it is on do 3 times cleanig the dipstick each time

your carb needs rebuilt carb has wrong level of gas it causing it to run dry if new this is warranty fix

ether your belts broke or cable broke are drive dog are full of dirt and not locking into drive

check for water in gas if not squirt a little starting in carb see if start if does rebuild carb

a replacement filter is equivlent to a factory filter go ahead and ues it

your drive will driver dogs are full of dirt you need to remove both wheels and clean the dirt out the dogs are spring loaded be ready for parts to spring out maybe depends on how much dirt

Carburator issue. If you have some mechanical abilty you can pull the carb off else take it to a shop. You probably left gas in it off season. Either the main jet is clogged or the float valve is stuck. Either way, remove the carb, tae off the bottom cover and clean everything out with gum out or a carb cleaner. reassemble and eveything should be fine.

you more than likly need a govenor adjustment you will have to take in for this to tricky could do damage to motor

There are a few things to check 1 is water in the fuel the new ethanol gas has allot of moisture in it .If the mower has been sitting a long might need a carburetor rebuild kit. The spark plug could be fouled or the coil couldnt be getting spark . If it was an older mower it could have a points and contacts problem

I would suggest checking the saftey cable. They can stretch or get bent and will not allow the engine to start.
