How do I make my lawn mower run better?
Yes, clean the air filter if it's a foam , washable fliter. If it's not the washable kind , replace it. Also replace the gas filter if there's one on the engine. Buy a can or bottle of carburetor and fuel system cleaner and put it in the gas tank to clean the carburetor.
Engine will not turn over
Down on the left side of the engine is a little switch use an ohm meter to see if it is making when you try to start itr. Some times they get loose or the female wire clip gets loose.GOOD LUCK....
What valves are to be adjusted on a lawnmower to keep it idling
There are not but two valves, intake and exhaust, and I doubt they need adjusting. Matter of fact I doubt anyone could do much to adjust them. Sounds like to me you've got a fuel mixture problem which could be as simple as changing the air filter. If that doesn't help it's likely carburetor related. If you have a bowl type carburetor, take it off and clean out the bowl with carburetor cleaner and make sure the float moves freely up and down. While you're at it spray it thorough all the jets in the carburetor. If you don't have a bowl type, buy a new set of diaphrams and gaskets and replace the old ones.

How do I Lower my yard machine mower to cut grass shorter?
there should be adjustments on each wheel.
Place the machine on a flat level surface and adjust each wheel so the blades are at the height you want it to be. Make sure all the wheels are all at the same height. Usually, the bottom of the deck lip to the floor equal all around.

gap needs to be 10 thousands of a inch done with a brass feeler gauge ..mag/flywheel has a spot with a magnetic field if you look you can see it it should make a 1/2 wrench stick to it if not replace mag/flywheel ..check key way also
Oil drain plug
turn upside down drain plug should be on the bottom.as far as the oil, if it has a dipstick, go by the marks, if not. set on level spot and fill to top leaving enough to replace the plug..have fun!!
Find oil plug to drain oil
If there is a drain plug, it's probably under the mower deck and really not of any use. Get 3 or 4 feet of clear plastic tubing small enough to stick down the fill hole and siphon the oil out. You can use an infant nasal bulb to get the siphon started. It works best to set the mower in the back of a pick-up or on a bench so the oil will flow. It's slow but not as messy as turning the mower on its side to drain the oil.
How to replace the cranking pull cord?
Ok, the spring will more than likely unravel when you remove the pull cord cover/assembly. There is notch in the spool for winding the rope around it. So make sure the spring is wound enough to fit it in the housing. Then take the rope, already knotted and in the spool. Turn the spool in the direction that tightens the spring.Push down on spool and allow spring to retract the rope. (Don't forget to tie the knot in the rope handle before placing on mower). Then lightly clamp in vise or visegrip, or channel lock pliers. I like to use visegrips on one side, and channel locks on the other. Place over the square flywheel nut, release channelock pliers, hold with fingers tightly so the spring does not unravel. Then release visegrips and hold with other free hand, Place over flywheel nut and slide down. Re-attach with screw previously removed. Your done. Don't forget to tie the knot in the rope handle before placing on mower.
