LG 24 in. LD-12BW5 Free-standing Dishwasher - Page 6 Questions & Answers
My lg dishwasher is giving an IE error msg.
Recommend that you follow the drain hose back from the drain to the dishwasher. Are you connected to a Sink-based Disposal or direct-connect to the drain?
The problem really can be that the drain hose has fallen and it never rises at least 30 inches above the floor that the dishwasher is sitting on. That causes a natural syphon effect, which drains the DW constantly, causing the dishwasher to believe it is leaking (which it is, through the drain hose.
Either install an AirGap valve and then properly connect it to the disposal or tie the hose up to the bottom of the counter to there is a rise between the DW and the drain.
Good Luck!

ERROR CODE
I have LG dishwasher for 2 years now. Working perfectly until one day one glass gets broken during washing cycle. Immideatly we get EO error. We check possible reason of error in the manual then decided to try to fix ourself. We open bottom cover and drain outcoming part. Immideatly we discover a piece of glass that was preventing a small plastic piece to rotate. We remove that piece of glass. Put back covers and machine. We connected it back to outlets and run it. All was working again !!! This is advise for everybody do not call service before checking the same by yourself ! As I read in internet in general service is qiute expensive and offten they are saying - you need to replace some part etc.... and this is very expensive. Try to do steps that I wrote and hopefully you are saved.....

Model LD1403W1
Are you using a rinse aid like Jet Dry?? All dishwasher manufacturers now require that you use rinse aid for drying dishes at the end of the cycle.

take off the water inlet valve and clean the little plastic filter. Hard water builds up a white scum type of substance.

LG DISHWASHER
This is a common fault if your drain hose or the drain pipework after it is blocked by tissues or fluff etc remove the drain hose from the vertical drain pipe or u-bend connection and check that all are free of obstructions. Also a lot of machines have a filter located at the bottom of the machine either behind a flap at the front or located near the pump at (usually) the back of the machine underneath. This can be got at by either removing the back panel if there is one or tilting the machine forward to access it from underneath chock the drum with wood to avoid drum suspension damage or re- attach the drum bolts which were removed when the machine was delivered if you still have them. The pump will have a rubber hose attached before it and the pump is connected to the machine end of the drain hose, often the rubber hose is large bore and incorporates a hard plastic filter designed to trap buttons coins etc before entering the pump and damaging the impeller blades, remove any debris.
In essence you are making sure the the whole drainage route from the drum to the final drain point is clear and free flowing.

Model No- LD-12AW2 LE Error showing what does this mean
LE error code means that there is a problem with the motor. One thing to check is to remove the front door panel and check the wiring harness to see if there are any broken wires. If there is, repair the wire connections and see if the dishwasher returns to normal. If not, then the motor assembly will need to be replaced.

E1 error on LG - LD-4120M
E1 is a common error in the LG Dishwasher range and is usually caused by the failure of the circulation pump and/or the impeller.
The motor and impeller are a complete unit.
Often what happens is the impeller breaks on the motor shaft and doesn't spin, therefore doesn't pump water.
There is a pressure sensor which indicates the lack of pressure and shuts the machine down with the E1 error being displayed.
The lack of pressure can also be from a water leak (as the owners manual suggests) also a controller PCB fault may produce an E1 error, however, the pump problem is extremely common.
Unfortunately, I have had 5 pumps die in 4 years and my dishwasher is only used about 4 times a week.

Impella separating from the motor shaft.
SADLY THE REPLACEMENT PART IS THE ONLY WAY BECAUSE IS IS OFTEN PRESSED ONTO THE SHAFT AND ANY TYPES OF GLUES OR APPOXIES WOULD NOT WORK DUE TO THE HEAT OF THE ELEMENT.IF IT DOES HAVE A THREAD IT MUST BE PARTIALLY STRIPPED BECAUSE THE THREAD IS USUALLY REVERSE THREADED. (IT SHOULD NOT COME LOOSE)
