Fault finding circuit

If you can program the clock and cook time, but it won't start wen you press "Start" I would suspect a bad door switch or switch mount. See these help files: http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/mwd/safety.txt http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/mwd/disassembly.txt http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/mwd/doorsw.txt If you still need help, please post a new help request and be sure to include the full model number from the tag on the unit as well as details on your symptoms, such as what it's doping or not doing, and when & how the problem occurs.

I Have a lg microwave oven ( model number - lmvm1945sbq ) that keeps blowing the braker when I try to start it. what is wrong ?

First off all, I would hope the microwave is on its own breaker, rated at 30A, since the microwave has a fuse rated at 20A.Normally if the high voltage capacitor is shorted, when you hit the "Start" pad to begin cooking, the fuse will blow instantly. If you have a problem with the monitor interlock switch, the oven will blow the breaker when the door is closed. But not always, so it may be a shorted high voltage capacitor, but I would first check for a shorted monitor interlock switch, as well as checking the mounts for all three door switches.See my help file on door switches here. Here is a link you or someone you know can use to test the high voltage capacitor, but read their safety warnings first: http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/cap_test.html The service manual is here, but it does not contain part numbers. If you need to order parts, contact Encompass here or call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

The right Half of the touch panel does not work

Without a model number, I can only give you a general answer, but feel free to contact me with the full model number and detailed symptoms for a free estimate and/or do it yourself tips and part numbers, etc.The problem is a failed keypad, which can occur due to manufacturing weaknesses, direct spraying of spray cleaners, heat or steam or grease accumulation due to failure to use the hood vent exhaust fan while cooking on the stove top, or just poor design.Either way, you would have to replace the membrane keypad or outer door panel or control panel frame, depending on model.

LMVM2075SW. Works fine except

There should be a separate fan to cool the magnetron. That fan blows into the cavity and should prevent moisture buildup.

Hit the start button and runs for 6 sec then code

You didn't mention your brand or model, but F9 code on an LG sometimes means either a bad door switch or a loose door switch mount.

See this file on door switches.

If a switch is all you need, we offer a universal type for only $5 postpaid which you can order here.

Here is more info on F9 as it relates to some brands and models:

Sears Kenmore Whierlpool LG 721.63683300

"F-9 on this microwave IS inverter related. There is a service tech troubleshooting document stuffed in behind the control board cover which has some testing proceedures. My problem was the magnatron and checked out bad with the help of this document. It would run for a few seconds making clicks and then say F-9. It has been working great since I replaced the magnatron PN 6324w1a002c."

"f9 model 721.63764300
Kenmore Elite 36 " over tne counter microwave is supplied by LG made by Gold Star, made in China. It's main problem is the high voltage inverter board supplyed by Sears Parts. If you get a F-9 code on your microwave display screen and the micro quits it's probably this board. Reset the machine by pulling the power plug and waiting an hour. If it is the high voltage board is at fault it will probably fail after 45 seconds of start up. This part is really hard to get at but is less than $100. A qualified technician should be able to remove and repair this item in less than hour. Some techs will quote you $300 labor, don't buy it, it should cost a $100 or less. No need to buy another microwave.

Kenmore power supply for microwave

We would need to know your brand, full model number, and very specific symptoms to be able to help you with your microwave.

But FixYa's Web site is currently not notifying us experts when replies to our Clarification Requests are posted,so you would need to post all that in a new help request.

We'd be happy to help.

My old GE oven (JSP38G052BG)

Hello ediben11.

If your oven's bake or the broiler heating elements won't heat but the range burners still work;the clock may be set for a timed or self-cleaning cycle. So,make sure to check the clock buttons and the knobs are set properly.
*If your clock has a knob that says "push for manual" then push the knob in after that, try the baking and broiling elements again.

*If it still does not work properly, you may have a defect in the thermostat/selector switch/common wiring.

*If the oven does not have a separate bake or broil selector switch; then the thermostat is probably the problem. It is not easy to check the selector switch or thermostat for proper operation. If you suspect a problem in this area, call a qualified appliance repair technician.

Hope this helps.

I have the part I need, but I need to disassemble

Remove the outer cover from the microwave oven to gain access to the door hinges. With the door off, and lying face down on the table, carefully pop-or-pry the plastic door seal off the inside. Presto, access.

F-9 error on my LG lmvm1945t microwave

The F9 problem in this microwave is a bad magnetron or inverter.

From other users:

"F-9 on this microwave IS inverter related. My problem was the magnatron and checked out bad with the help of (the tech sheet). It would run for a few seconds making clicks and then say F-9. It has been working great since I replaced the magnatron."

"f9 Kenmore Elite 36 " over tne counter microwave is supplied by LG made by Gold Star, made in China. It's main problem is the high voltage inverter board supplyed by Sears Parts. If you get a F-9 code on your microwave display screen2.gif and the micro quits it's probably this board. No need to buy another microwave."

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for several minutes or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If it fails again and you or someone you know decide to look into it further, we have critical safety information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can find exploded views and order parts by entering your model number at the
Sears parts site.

The magnetron probably has an extended warranty beyond the normal one year parts and labor warranty.

So I would consult your owner's manual or contact Sears for details on the warranty.

To get your owner's manual, just enter your full model number at the Sears parts site.

On the resulting page, look to the right for the blue "View Manuals" button.

That Sears-related site has many free manuals. While the manuals they list there are all free, they will ask you to register.

If yours is not listed there for free, you would have to order it through the
Sears parts site.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Microwave Does Not Heat.

Test the high voltage capacitor, the rectifier diode.or the magnetron.

If it additionally does not spin and no light, then check also the door switch.

The diode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must be alloweddischarge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, even ifpower is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting their twocontacts.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.

All locations, and description of this parts can be located using the diagram here: Counter top.

Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.

Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

Regarding parts, contact the seller here to purchase parts. (here in UK).
