Jacuzzi Brothers 1/2 Hp 8gpm 2 Wire Sumbersible Well Pump R5sub82 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

No preventative maintenance is necessary. However, a happy pump always has water above it and should not pump sand. If the water level in the well is below the pump/motor they will overheat. If this is a problem your local pump company can install a module to protect your pump from this type of event.

If your generator puts out 240 volts and has the amperage to handle the pump load, I believe it can. Your generator installer could answer that.

Their should be a breaker dedicated to just the pump and you can shut it off there.

The clicking you hear inside the little box is the contacts that send power to the pump. They have probably gotten corroded to the point they would not make contact. By kicking on and off you probably loosened some carbon, it was still making a poor connection and carboned up again. Only this time causing the points to stick open (so no clicking) You can take this switch apart and give it a good cleaning then reset the points. Or you can get a new switch and install it on the system. Ether way be sure that the power is off for these operations as this is all the power going to the pump.

Hi,

I believe sediment filter inline would take care off this. The only thing I can think of is that you have the wrong kind of sediment filter on your line. You may want to check what the size of the screen is, or what the micron size the filter will take out. Too big of filter will let the small **** through, but too little will plug up super fast. Sometime you have to take the good with the bad until what ever caused the disturbance in your well is done.

Thanks.

Likely the PTO switch is failing. Try twist and hold the PTO switch (CW and CCW)... if the PTO kicks in, replace switch.

Probably clogged screen in carb on the solid cast side. Usually only one screw in center, be carful of gasket and diaphragm and check flap valves for debris.

Most are clearly labeled if they are.

Either a bad kill switch or ignition module.

The drill was a bosch 1194vsr hammer drill - now it is a door stop!
You could try the repair shop, but they'll probably laugh - its burnt out and they aren't usually worth repairing. It was a good drill, but they all burn out one day. Have fun choosing a new one.

Hi. Whilst the engine and casing are apart, you will need to gently pull out the cord from the recoil unit so that you have room to manoeuvre and jam or lock the cord to the mechanism of the recoil unit to prevent it recoiling back in. Gently align the casing to the engine assembly ensuring the recoil unit is orientated correctly (the screw holes need to align to the outer casing holes). Once mated together, pop a couple of screws in to keep the recoil unit and casing together and then you should be able to put tension on the recoil cord in order to unship it from it's 'jammed/locked' position and the whole unit should then recoil back in normally. Reassemble the machine. The whole procedure is tricky but the key is to ensure the cord is jammed or locked against the recoil unit to prevent it turning whilst mating the casing and engine back together. Make sure you have removed any cord from the combustion chamber (if you have placed any), otherwise you will not be able to rotate the recoil mechanism and ensure the spark plug is removed for safety. I did it last night with my RLT26CDS and it worked a treat!

Operator must be in the seat while PTO is engaged so most likely the seat switch has failed or displaced.

You cannot just take the bolts out and get the blades off, you would need to open the gearbox housing, the blades run on an eccentric inside the gearbox, this is what makes them reciprocate, the box will be filled with grease, so a pretty messy job, just wire brush them on the machine and re oil if you do not want to strip the gearbox.

Unfortunately there is no way to clean the carb without removing it, and disassembling it, you can replace the fuel filter in the fuel tank fairly easily, just hook the hose out through the open filler hole, pull the filter off the end of the hose and replace with new.

This machine is running too lean ( insufficient fuel getting to the cylinder ) things that make it run too lean are.
Blocked fuel filter in the fuel tank.
Cracked or split fuel pipe.
Incorrect settings on the carb.
Dirt or blockage in the carb
Diaphragm's hardened in the carb
Things you can do yourself, hook the pipe out of the fuel tank and replace the filter on the end, if you are not mechanically minded you will need somebody to service the carb, and re set it for you.

Yes, valves work best if they seal properly. Better compression equals more power as well as less risk of burning the valve edges as burning gas leaks past them.
