Have an old troy bilt tiller, spark plug gap for tecumseh engine
Hi Jesse:
SPARK PLUG AIR GAP ON ALL MODELS IS
.030 (.762MM)
NOTE:
Not all spark plugs have the same heat range or reach. Using an incorrect spark plug can cause severe engine damage or poor performance. Tecumseh uses all three of the reaches shown.
Ta Da!

NEED A MANUALC FOR TROY BUILT PONY TILLER THE ONLY NUMBER.I CAN FIND IS 20512CT
You can get this manual directly from the troybilt.com website. A lot of manufacturers have their manuals available and just out of curiosity I checked there and in they do have tillers like the one pictured here. Enter pony tiller in the search box and you'll get a page of their different models. Click the one you have and it opens into another window showing the tiller, and beneath it is a bar with "overview" Specs" "Accessories" and "Parts & Manual" You can download the manual and - "yippee!!" - it's even free.

Engine runs on half choke
You probably have some buildup in the carburetor, because tillers are gernerally used seasonally it leaves plenty of opportunities for buildup to occur . Also, you should inspect throttle cables and linkage to insure that everything intact.

How do you get it to free wheel? when you have to
That's tricky... some of the small TB will not free wheel and either have to be "drug" from place to place or start up and drive it. Some allow to freewheel by pulling the pins on the wheel hubs, pushing the wheels "in" and reinstalling the pin. This allows the hub to "freewheel" on the axle and the pin just keeps the wheel from falling off. Hope this helps.

Got a rear tine tecumseh motor that will not allow
its always best to put a line on the bowl, to the bowl housing. ( i scratch mine in with a nail). then when you put it on, match 2 lines. iit may be possible float is stuck up like some woman i use to no, lol... but anyways, if one side of the bowl is deeper, (deeper side) has to go directly acrossfrom the float hinges.. i hope this helps....

My tiller does not seem to be cutting deep enough
Hi there kimberly,
Here's what you need to do.
- Make sure the depth stake (behind the tines) is up as high as it will go. This will allow the tines to go deeper.
- Fire it up. Set the tine rotation to reverse (more mixing and twisting.
- Make sure the tines are actually turning, Each side is held in place with a shear pin. In case something binds the blades, this pin breaking will save the drive train
- Note how the tiller is balanced. Wheels in the middle. You can tilt it forwards or backwards.
- Tilting forward allows the wheels to gain traction and move the unit forward
- Tilting Backwards allows the tines to dig in. If the surface is too hard, Press down with your body weight. It will dig through.
I hope this work out for ya
Best regards
Mike

Troy bult junior has new tines , runs to fast...
MAKE TWO PASSES SET THE DEPTH GUIDE SO IT JUST BREAKS THE GROUND, DON'T TRY TO DO IT ALL AT ONCE. SOON AS THE GROUND IS LOOSE IT WILL DIG MUCH BETTER.. IT SHOULD HAVE A FORWARD AND REVERSE FOR THE TINES, GEARS FOR FORWARD REVERSE DRIVE

I have a troy bilt tiller with a 2hp motor.lately
You can check the linkage that links the governor to the carb. If that is fine then you can check the fuel line for a blockage, the carburetor for debris, and if that is fine then you may want to try sanding the rust off the magnet (on the fly-wheel).

Can't start my Troy Built Tuffy tiller
First pull your spark plug out reconnect to the plug wire and ground tot he engine body
Pull the starter cord and see if you have a good clean spark that goes to the electrode and not to the side of the spark plug.
If no spark check your off/on switch

Could you tell me how to drain the gas tank.
easy way is to take the nut off the bottom of the carburetor bowl. It'll drain the tank, carb and fuel line. If you're not comfortable with this, then you can pull the fuel line off the carb or tank and let them drain this way too.
