Palm sander

The answer "Go to Dewaltservicenet" can be confusing - the actual site is servicenet.dewalt.com and even then, entering your part to get to manual can be infuriating. This is the link for the current model which, for all intents and purposes, is the same. The link to the helpful page is: http://www.dewalt.com/tools/woodworking-sanders-orbital-sanders-d26441k.aspx . You'll get a pop-up box with a dropdown that has a few numbers, nothing else. Just click on "1" and ignore language that indicates that this model has more than one - it does not. After you click on "1", the pop-up disappears that you're on the d/l page. Downloads are in the upper right corner. You want "Instruction Manual".You should get to this page: http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Parts/Browse#6229 but may not, it's very glitchy. On this page, you'll want to make sure "Sanders" is on the left and "sheet" is on the right. If you try to get the Manual from the DW411 page, a blank page will open. Make sure your pop-up blocker is off or that you allow dewalt.com. The instructions for the d26441k are identical to the dw411 - same technique for loading sanding sheets, same rods, etc. I've uploaded the d26441k page manual .pdf so that should help. It's easy to get lost on the Dewalt site while trying to find somthing so simple. :)

Can the platen on DW411 be replaced

Yes it can be replaced. If you go to www.ereplacementparts.com, you can look up your sander and find the parts you need. You can buy the parts there or get the part numbers and search the web for pricing.

DW411 Can I put a velcro

Dewalt is not going to make an accessory for you to do so, since that sander was designed to use 1/4 sheet sandpaper, and therefore takes standard paper clamped in place. You could make your own base for the sander out of thin plywood or some other suitable material, covered perhaps with a laminate or rubber surface, that would accept PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) sandpaper, which you can buy in rolls appropriately sized for your sander. Or you can try some kind of after-market conversion kit such as this one (See also here, etc.)
If you really want a hook and loop base on your sander, I recommend you bite the bullet and simply purchase a random orbital sander with a H&L pad. Then you'll of course have to buy the perforated paper discs to go with it....
But you'll easily be able to change grits, and the performance and quality of your sanding will improve.
You might check the reviews in various woodworking magazines before you make a purchase, just so you know what you're likely to get for your money. There's a vast array of machines made, and the quality varies accordingly, and depends to some extent on your budget and intended use.
Good luck!

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Need to find replacement switch part

best way is go to dewaltservicenet.com and they have a service/repair center locator section type in your information and you can find one pretty close that way. Also you can download a schematic for the tool while you are there.

My dewalt 1223 brad nailer will not fire

The nailer must be firmly pressed against the surface you are planning to nail. This will arm the nailer in preparation for firing the nail.

Changed blades on 733 dewalt planer now rollers not working could it be associated chews up broards

Either the blades are incorrectly installed causing the head to jam or the safety cover is not installed properly - there is a safety mechanism that locks the cutter head when the cover is removed.

Hi my new dewalt first fix nailer(2018) will fire a few nails but then the battery light starts flashing? does this with all 4 of my batteries fully charged

Typical cause is low voltage - but can also be a bent driver or something jammed in the nail track. Is this a finish nailer or framing nailer?

I have a dewalt 18g DC608 finishing nailer I bought, and I’m using it with a 18v adaptor with 20v batteries. It lights up and fires maybe three nails but when the motor gets going it always cuts power and I have to remove the battery and put it back. Anybody else had this problem?

That symptom usually indicates a low voltage issue - not sure how the adapter may affect this, I've never run them with a 20v battery. Try it with a standard 18v and see if you have the same issue - please comment back with the results, I'm curious.
