I have a homelite model uto8550 26cc mighty

1. check fuel filter in gas tank (for clogged condition).
2. Check carb jet for dirt (squirt carb cleaner in jet and fuel inlet

Summary: your carb is not getting enough fuel to mix properly with constant air flow. Therefore, fuel supply needs to be cleaned... then you will run happy!!

HB-180 Leaf blower won't start

if its flooded then it surly wont fire, not a 2-stroke. are you over priming or is there a malfunction. remove plug, put plug not a tester in the end of lead, ground, and pull. spark should be purple and consistent. if red/yellow/intermitent. change he plug. if the engine is only flodding on its own then the needle and seat could be stuck open in the carb, gas tank vent in fuel cap plugged and building tank pressure, or fuel mixed too rich. let me know what you find

Won't start. i changed spark plug and cleaned

Hi,
You might want to try adjusting the carb. Remove the two caps on the screws and turn each screw in 1/2 turn. Then try to start. If it starts then you are good to go. If not try turning in a little more. Once you get it started you might need to back the screw back out a little to get the unit to run "smoothly" once done just put the caps back on or discard (you don't need them.
Good luck!

Homelite vacuum blower doesn't run at full speed.

Sounds like you need to adjust the Carb. Take the two plastic caps off and turn each screw 1/2 turn. and then try to start. If it works then out the caps back on (or you can leave them off, they are not needed).
Good luck!

I need to know how to hook the filter to the gas

Bonjouir,

The filter is usually most likey, a little long cylinder, that slides inside the entrance of the gas tank. Just keep twisting gently, it should fall and snap it place, and along came filter...LoL :).

Fuel line connections in the tank ?

The one without the filter is ok just being a little inside the tank. Make sure that line is hooked to outlet on the primer that pushes pressure into tank.

Parts number

You need to know if it is a walbro or a zama carb. to start with.
then look closely at the carb. and find #`s
very small

walbro will be wt or wa then some #`s
zama will be c1q or c1u and some #`s on the opposite side of carb.
Walbro will be on the same side

you need to know the carb. #`s so a kit can be found for that particular carb. IE: complete kit or diaphram kit

Blower stalls

Sounds to me you might be sucking air into the fuel line that's in the fuel tank...

I'd drain the tank, remove the fuel line and check it for hole...

Will not start

Homelite leaf blowers that use whats called a half crankshaft system are prone to many problems. Whats a half crank system you ask? If there is a small aluminum plate that attaches to the side of the engine by the gas tank you have one of these. Usually held on with 4 small bolts. I just got rid of a Homelite Vac Attack 2 that had spark and compression but the compression checked low about 75 should be 90 or better. What happened, a head bolt came loose and the engine ran lean causing the fragile rings on the piston to heat up and when that happens they loose their outward spring that seals against the cyclinder walls. A simple compression check using a gauge and not your finger will tell you that. Other causes could be less than normal spark, or maybe the exhaust port under the muffler has carbon build up or the muffler is plugged up also Check all bolts, and nuts to make sure they are tight.

does it try to fire or nothing what i suggest is check the spark arrestor in the muffler it looks like a little screen when you remove it you should be able to see through it if not it needs to be cleaned and the only way that i found that works is to burn it out with a propane torch if thats not the case then let me know
