Echo blower wont fire

you sheared the flywheel key... If it's a PB250 251 or something along those lines you are going to need a new carb and flywheel. Take it to the dealer and see if they can fix in under warranty... Why the carb you say, it leaked causing the flywheel to come loose. If it's not under warranty then do not repair, you can buy a new one for about $160 USD

Went to start bp251 blower

Take plug out turn blower to where plug hole is down pull starter cord many times until all fuel is out. Clean plug, install, try starting without priming or choking. If no start try priming just until you get fuel to engine. Try starting again. If this works when storing blower leave fuel cap slightly loose in very hot weather until you want to start.

My Echo PB-251 leaks gas

well 1st thing with the amount of alcohol that's in gas now days it's no longer a safe/good idea to store even for short time power tools with fuel in them , second are u sure its coming from exhaust or maybe near there ? reason I ask is that maybe there's a fuel hose that's leaking and it runs out near there , this needs attention as fuel could continue to leak out when tool is in operation as well , leaking hoses are a very common problem in todays power tools , from a 600 hundred dollar huskavarnia to a 40 dollar echo none of them make fuel hose they all buy them (probably from same place)

Weed eater is locked up. can not pull cord at all.

Try taking the cover off around the pull if you can. Likely the cord is not free to spin, or there is a rub on the fly wheel stopping it from moving.

I would get a carb kit (they're cheap) and completely clean the carb. Also, check out the gas tank vent. It's definitely a fuel issue.

How to install a throttle cable on an ECHO PB-251 blower

throttle cable ??? should actually have a throttle rod that goes to a very short piece of cable. and this cable only goes from the carb to the throttle rod. the cable is actually easy to replace. it's only 3 inches long. the throttle rod or trigger requires removal of one side of the handle.

Where is the flywheel located on an Echo PB251 gas leaf blower?

Before you go through the trouble of dismantling the blower to get to the flywheel you should perform a compression test. 140 psi is ideal. Less than 100 its probably not worth repairing. Less than 90 it shouldn't run.

It is very possible that the exhaust ports are plugged with carbon. If so, do not use a metal object to clean them, rather a brass or wooden dowel. Is the cylinder on tight? See if it is loose (4 screws hold it tight, do not over tighten). Flywheel key in place and not sheared?
