Where can I get a battery for Black & Decker Drill CD 1000?
This will be a suggestion...but for mine I bought two 18650 LiFePo4 cells (3.7V each) and replaced the original NiCd Batteries. It has been working for many years now, since the original batteries expired and stop working in 2002 (I bought the CD 1000 back in 1994!!!!!). You have to use a special charger for the new ones but they stay charged a lot more and the drill has more torque.
How to remove a chuck from Black & Decker VPX1212 drill
Open the chuck as wide as it will open and look inside to see what type of screw/bolt it uses then using the correct tool insert it into the chuck and undo the bolt/screw, usually it will have a left hand thread so to unscrew it needs to be rotated in a clockwise directions, hold the chuck tightly but dont use excessive force if this does not work then try unscrewing it in the opposite direction, at all times be firm but like I mentioned earlier dont use excessive force.
Can anyone tell me what the various controls on a Black & Decker SR 910 RT Hammer drill do?
there's a button behind the trigger for locking the trigger at full speed. there's a button above the trigger for clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation. there's a button on the top for hammer mode or regular mode. Hammer mode is for concrete, it basically makes the drill bit hammer in turning the concrete underneath it to dust as opposed to cutting with a sharp edged drill bit for regular stuff like wood or metal. If yours has numbers those are for torque settings, and are hardly ever used by professionals.
