Thumper Mini Pro 2 Massager Questions & Answers
Disassemble to repair
I just decided to try to fix mine. There are all together 5 screws. The two on the handle are covered with plastic caps which can be pulled out by sticking a duct tape and pulling it up. The other three screws are in the thumper head and are covered with the purple violet rubber piece. I removed it with my fingers. There are also two plastic bolts in the head of the thumper opposite to the handle. I removed them by using a sharp knife to loosen them and pulled with pliers.
I purchased two thumpers over time and in both the switch failed. I see that the switch in the handle is linked with the underlying mechanical switch by a very thin plastic piece. What a miserable design. That piece broke off in both thumpers rendering them unusable.
Good luck. Artur
How do I restart the massager after it overheats?
As far as I know (from my experiences with my 10-year-old model), all that is required is to allow the unit to cool off before attempting to restart.
Perhaps the company has updated the electronics with addition of a thermistor. If so, it would require replacement (but I doubt this to be so)
Rocker arm hums does not cycle
Do you mean that it is the motor that is "humming", and you sense vibration in the pads? Perhaps it's only from dirty contacts on the switch (which can be cleaned easily). Otherwise, it means that the motor is either broken or not being allowed to function due to breakage of one of the links in the system. For that, you'll have to open the case & check.
Where can i get a thumper mini pro repaired?
Actually, you can remove the switch without opening the case, by simply carefully prying off the switch (which is actually a switch cover)
and then pushing the retaining clips of the "real" switch itself until it comes out. Then inspect & clean, and see if that solves your problem.
Another possible cause might be blown circuitry in the over-heat limiter.
Take apart case to repair switch
Atleast on model which I own (~6 yrs old), there is no need to take apart the case for switch removal. Simply pry the switch cover off (gently) and switch will then slide out for cleaning & evaluation.
