I'm having a problem with my Homedics SBM 300H
Yes there was a short circuit and am sure the massager and the cpomputer where plugged in the sane extension box that was why there was loss of power when the massager stopped working. For the massager it is the fuse so get a new fuse for it.
Controls will not work
Have you checked the remote control sometimes a wire gets pinched, or the circuit board is bad. The main harness may be bad, again the circuit board.

The massargers will not go up to the top is the
An electric motor turns a worm gear that turns a large spur gear that turns a smaller spur gear that rides on a rack gear. The smaller spur gear (pinion) that rides the rack (yes, as in rack-n-pinion), allowing the up-and-down travel of the massage balls, has broken teeth which may not be visible because it's hidden under the larger spur gear.
Ilectrical problem
I have a similar problem with my unit. found out that Homedics only does repairs under warranty. After that you are on your own. I did remove my covers from unit and located the power supply. Their is a fuse there to replace near edge of board. Mine was good and I checked voltages through secondary of transformer. At this point without a schematic it will be painful to trouble shoot. Looked for a brand name on power supply with hopes of buying one from a supply house. no such information and it looks like an OEM product for this use only. It is a bust and I will not buy another Homedics product because they will not service unit past warranty Expendable Electronics! Not good for anyone!
