Royal 85X Shredder Questions & Answers
I have a Royal 85MX
Sounds like your sensor is either blocked, malfuntioning or misaligned. The good news is that the motor and blades must not be damaged if it will work in reverse. But it could also be your bin full switch is stuck in the full mold.
Suggest vacuuming out the top of the unit, and making sure the bin in empty.

Royal 85x paper shredder:
The shredder
Sometimes spraying shredder oil on the cutting teeth wil work.
You should shred paper with a light weight machine oil poured on the paper to keep the cutting teeth working freely.
Good luck.
P.S. If this doesn't work then just take the head off and cleanj/lubricate any bearings you find.

I have a GBC 85X
There are four ways to solve this problem.
1 Ask the retailer to get you the part
2 You can buy it on line from any of the electronic part dealers like Amzon.com, Best buy, Radio shack, E-Bay etc.
3 Go to the support section in your product web site and and buy the same.
4 You can contact the local service dealer to help you in providing the part.

It will reverse but it does not work in auto.
Try cleaning the "eyes" to see if they are dusty/dirty...in the middle where you insert the paper...if that dosn't fix it you probably need a new PCB...contact Royal at 1-800-524-0799 for parts assistance.

I have a paper jam in my shredder. How do I fix
Theory is that there should still be some paper sticking up that you can get a hold of.....switch the machine into reverse while trying to pull the paper back out.....if you manage that and it is still working make sure you put some shredder oil into the cutting blades and only run the machine at about 70% of its max. sheet capacity to avoid future jams and extend machine life.
