Wont play Blue Ray but will play regular DVDs
If unit does this with all blue ray disks,old and new ones, then the unit is defective. Period

1) test the cable for audio in another devides and see how is work, determine if faulty or not ,2) clean the terminal from dvd and therminal from tv.with cleaner contacts.3) try again. 4) if the problem persis the Syscom+circuit associates like ampli audio can be faulty, you must go to the repair shop TV for fix it.God bless you

Check and replace its optical pickup unit. It will be best to get this set repaired by authorised service center for Sony, because, components of blu-ray players are very difficult to get from open electronic spare part market.

There are no compatibility issues. In your BluRays HDMI audio settings set the audio out to PCM instead of bit stream.The TV cannot decode digital bit stream audio.
