Check and replace its optical pickup unit. It will be best to get this set repaired by authorised service center for Sony, because, components of blu-ray players are very difficult to get from open electronic spare part market.

I have had the same issue with my LG bluray player and in fact this morning I noted the unit was "on" but would do anything. The only solution I've found so far is to un-plug the power & let it all drain out ;-) then plug it back in and it should "wake up" into a mode that you can control it again, until it does it again sometime in the future. I was looking to see if this was a defect in the firmware but haven't found anything yet.

There are no compatibility issues. In your BluRays HDMI audio settings set the audio out to PCM instead of bit stream.The TV cannot decode digital bit stream audio.

I'm sorry to inform you that the Blu-ray player does not have the feature to stream videos from Netflix. The network connection on the player is used for watching BD Live content from the playing disc and network update.

The cooling fan on your BDP-S350 should work all the time, because the system gets very hot in just a few minutes. Try playing a Blu Ray disc with the volume down, with in 10 minutes the fan should start running if not you have a defective fan or control electronics. Try spinning the blade of the fan when its on with a non conductive material ( tooth pick ).
But if the fan starts running with in 10 minutes of the movie ( Bluray ) all is OK and your system has a thermal sensor built in. Its done to prevent you hearing the wind noise during a quite passage of a movie ( some find it annoying ).

I'm sorry to inform you that the Blu-ray player does not feature streaming videos from Netflix. However, the player has BD-Live feature. YOu can view the bonus contents in the Blu-ray disc if you configure network with the Player.
