Yesterday I shut off my

Hello
If you know that the display is working, (you've tested it on another machine or similar) Then the issue is with the machine obviously.

Lets begin by removing all the RAM from the machine, (Unplug first of course, and press the power button so that any remaining power is released)

After you have removed all the ram from the machine, plug it back in and power on, it should BEEP.

Turn off the machine after you have gotten tired of beeping (just turning it on and hearing the beep is enought, if you don't hear a beep there might be a more serious problem, but more on that later)

Plug in one of the Ram modules. And power on again. you should get picture now as long as the machine beeped before, if it doesn't try the other module.

By now you should be getting picture out of the machine, if not, the problem is possibly the video card, cpu or mainboard.

Unplug all the extra devices on the machine, only leave connected, Powersupply, mainboard, cpu, ram, video. disconnect all the cables going to dvd drives etc.

Try turning on again, if you still don't get anything, remove the video card, if possible try another card, power on without the card and turn off again, plug in the card again.

You should have gotten the machine working by now, by trying another video card, if not, the problem is either the cpu or the mainboard.

There is a Clear CMOS jumper near the mainboard battery, removing the battery is not a good way of reseting the bios, best way is to use the jumper on the board.

I bought asus m3a78-cm board with via on board

is this windows 7 32-bit OR 64-bit
you will need 64 drivers for all your hardware if you have migrated from a 32 to 64 bit operating system.
Windows7 64 bit still has some major bugs with certain sound cards.
Asus has updated drivers available at thier website, but they dont have them for all hardware, just the most current.
Hope this helps, post again if i can answer any more questions..
Regards!

Error message shuts computer at start up...CPU fan

the trick is that there is more than one spot where you can plug in the CPU fan, had the same issue with an HP myself. try a different spot to plug in the CPU cooler. mine was in the upper right hand of the board and was labeled CFAN. the one i thought was for the CPU (it was same color as the fan connector) was actually a case fan connection.

Videocard not working

Try removing the new card, booting into BIOS, change your video setting the slot of your card: I believe your card is PCI-E, save changes and exit. When it starts to reboot, turn the computer off, install the new card and then try rebooting again. You may also have to boot into Safe Mode\Uninstall the original video driver or disable that video component and then try rebooting your system.

Usb failier

Hi Qqhampton

Your USBs are more than likely past their sellby date! A PCI card like this with some new USB ports would only cost a few £/$ and are very easy to install if you follow the instructions and an awful lot cheaper than a new motherboard!

Lower rear usb,s not working

If powering the computer off / on does not reset them, then no, they are physically damaged. If you need more ports, a USB hub is your best bet. I would get a powered hub as them provide better support as you add devices.

Cpu fan runs at high speed all the time

the problem is that the mother board you are now using has a 4th wire that sences cpu temp this allow the heat sink fan to change speed to get this to work correctly you will need to replace the fan with a 4 wire style. what is happening is your not getting a temp siginal back to motherboard so the fan controller think it hot and send full power to fan alll the time the stock fan in hp systems is not very good any way .Get a good heat sink and fan to fit your new board ebay has them very cheap 5.00 to 20.00 this will all so increase you system temp and all get the proper cooling when you really need it.

When i trying to boot up my pc it's take about

Vista may be the problem. I used to have vista for couple years but actually downgrated to xp again!
You should download a program called "glary utilities" it is a free download.
It will clean your registry, optimize registry and boot up times, spyware and adware removal, system defrag, temp files cleaner and way more!
This program will dramatically help improve boot up times.
Also Check your start up items to see what is being loaded all at boot up time. You are able to disable some programs and delay others as well. There is also a setting on glary utilites that does this

AMDFan, update to the most recent BIOS and that should fix the problem. It fixed death88scyth's issue, I see no reason as to why it won't fix it for you.
