DeLonghi A120E Air Conditioner Questions & Answers
My Delonghi A120LE Drips water not sure why
OK. This fixed my A120LE from leaking. First unplug the machine for safety. If you are looking at the back of the unit you need to take off the right side panel. I took off the all the panels but you could just take off the right side.
There is a reservoir on the top that collects condensation from the top coil. (shown in the circle) The drain hole on mine was clogged. If you stick a small screwdriver or paperclip in the hole to push the debris through it should start working properly again. I did this to mine yesterday and it hasn't leaked since!! Drain hole is shown here in close up picture. Unclogging this will allow the condensation to flow down to the main reservoir on the bottom where it will be evaporated in the AC exhaust.
Good luck!
What would be the reason it leaks water
Just as a cold can of soda condenses the moisture in the air as it contacts the cold surface, so does an Air conditioner, it is part of the "conditioning" not simply temperature reduction. As you may know in New York city for example 95F is a heat stroke warning temperature if the humidity is very high, Miami beach is also very humid, humidity affects the comfort level at a given temperature tremendously.
A/C works fine most days but when really hot like
When it turns off, do you look at your alarm display and see if it is lit up? It should be a triangle with and exclamation point in it above the auto fan indicator. Please let me know if this lights up when it turns off.
