Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). I'm afraid your camera can't set the photo count to 1. At least the user manual does not show any possible hint how it could be done.

Internal memory is full after you shot only a few pictures Actualy you only have 11 Megabyte free for pictures. If you want to make more pictures, you have to insert a SD memory card. Make sure you buy a SD and not a SDHC or SDXC card, because nothing in the manual says your camera is compatible with these bigger cards. If you happen to have a SDHC card you are free to try if it works, but don't buy one unless you are sure it works.

If you did not drop the camera. It won't be the lens. That said, please have a close look to the lens. Is the front element clean? you could clean it with a soft cloth that is used for glasses too. But also try to look into the lens. Sometimes, when a lens is left is a moist envirement, mold can grow between two elements. The glass you see inside is not bright anymore and gets a grayish look.When the battery is becoming old, you only can make less pictures with one charge, till it is old and stops. Before the camera could warn you the power is running low.

may be you had placed the card wrong and inside the pin got pressed and only inner memory is getting used which gives less pic. due to less mb inner memory
