Listen Port of TCP 8552 Blocked by Firewall/Router

To enable the port you need to log on to the router then the setup and look for ports. You will have to give it a name, the port number and tell it is a tcp. Then just save/apply.

It is pretty easy to do and you will find a few already in there to look at. This is covered in the user manual and you can pull up the help if needed on the page. It really is just a matter of filling in the blanks and hitting apply.

Have a Linksys Wireless router Model WRT160N

@joea1956

Try the following:

1. If you want WPA2 encryption on your router, (which also have higher security and compatibility issues with wireless cards), you could try WPA2-TKIP (which is standard encryption and made compatible for all wireless cards) or WPA2-AES (for specific wireless cards that are unable to connect to TKIP encryption)

2. If Step 1 won't work, try to lower your security encryption to WPA-PSK (either TKIP or AES) and try again. If this works, your IPAD2's wireless card doesn't support WPA2 encryption yet.

If all of the above fails, I do not recommend WEP since it's easily cracked (for advanced users) but you could try it as a last resort.

Good luck.

After trying to connect my

Reset your router back to it's factory settings by holding the reset button for about 5 seconds. I have provided a list of the most popular router brands. If it does not work you may need to google what your specific model's default IP address/default username/default passwords are, for example search for "Encore ENHWI-2AN3 default IP address" The default login info can change, it can depend on where you obtained your router. If you purchased it yourself from a store then the standard defaults should work. If you obtained your router from your Internet Provider you may need to contact your service provider. It also may depend whether it's an old or new model router as well. And you may need to press and hold the reset button on your router several times before it actually clears. Make sure you have a wired connection then once you have accessed your router simply run the Setup Wizard. Set your SSID as something you'll remember like "Mavericks Network" and your Password can be something like your phone number for example 3109876543

Router wont work, needs to be re programmed

Here you can find the owners manual: http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/WRT160N
I would, however, suggest that if you are not comfortable setting it up that you either request a chat or have a professional set it up for you.

Lost password to install linskys router, how do I

Hi

Reset the router using the reset button or pushplate at the back, this sets it back to the Factory Default Username and Password settings, which should be printed on the rear or underside of the router or in the manual (if you have no manual you can download a PDF manual from:

http://www.starbatteries.com/liwrwiroinma2.html

or

cna1.upc.edu.cn/cisco/tools/WRT160N_ug.pdf
Then install it again, creating a new password.

This time, e-mail the password to yourself and/or save it in your cellphone.

Hope this helps

how far is your computer to the DSL wireless router? If it is too far and signal becomes to weak you won't be able to connect. And also make sure that there is no metal, concrete wall in between, it will block signal too. Good luck Thanks
