Turn off the modem (i am assuming you are using a cable modem. if it is a DSL modem, this will not work) and the router. Turn the modem back on and wait until all the LED's on the front of the modem come on and blink or stay solid, then turn the router on. Please reset the router.Go to Address bar on Internet explorer.Enter 192.168.1.1When asked for the user id and passwordLeave the username blankPassword is ADMINNow go to the wireless security tab abd you can set up a secured network.

You may have setup the wrong wireless in the router. There are 4 flavours. a, b, g, and n. Take a look and see what you setup.

Flip the router upside down, on the back (base) of the router you'll find the label for model # and serial #. Below this label there is label for PIN no.

You can open a browser and put 192.168.1.1 on the address bar, that should open the Linksys user interface page, you would be asked for the current username and password to access the settings and get to where you can change the password. If you don't know what the current username and password is, you can hard reset the router by pushing the reset button on the back of the router for 10-15 seconds. After that you can try to access the Linksys user interface, login by leaving the username blank and the password is "admin"

The router has a built-in web-server.
So, just connect your web-browser to that web-server,
select the correct page, and click PRINT.

The encryption key maybe incorrect. I suggest you RESET the Linksys wireless router and then configure it again. To reset the Linksys back to the default settings - Press and hold the pinhole RESET button at the back of the router with the power ON for 20 secs. then release the RESET button. To find the password/passphrase on the Linksys router, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router. On older models the username is left blank and the password is “admin”. On newer models, both the username and password is “admin”.

Once you get in to the router management tool, look for the security portion. There you will find the password or passphrase you are using for your WEP or WPA security encryption.
