Need window in lid of Back to Basics popcorn
Melanie322 - you wanna sell me your other window? :-)Apparently West Bend bought all that company, and they do not list a replacement plastic window. The plastic window on my stainless steel stovetop popper broke right under the middle screw, so I went to the hardware store and got a big nylon washer and put it under the screw. It ain't pretty, but it hold the little window up...
How much oil or corn do you use in the Back to
unless you have the instruction manual, only trial-and-error will tell you. Start with 2 tablespoons of oil and 1/2 cup of corn kernals. If there is oil left after the corn is popped, decrease the amount of oil by a teaspoon. If the popped corn is burned, increase the oil by a teaspoon. As for the corn, if the pot is full when the popping is done, 1/2 cup is the right amount. If the popped corn over flows, 1/2 cup is too much. Vary the oil and corn until you get it right. Good luck! I love popcorn, so I wish you the best.
Can you tell me how much oil and popcorn to use in
Its mostly a personal preference, but get at least a good coating of oil in the bottom, and enough to coat the corn.If you find the taste is to oily then use less(or switch oil,I like butter)I've found that most pans (unless they are on the short side) will do just fine if you put enough popcorn in the bottom to cover the bottom of the pan,one layer deep.
