Hi,
Make
sure the humidistat is not set too high by adjusting it to
the lowest humidity setting and running it again. Next, test the
dehumidifier by placing it in a closed bathroom with a hot shower
running. If you don't see water collecting in the unit after several
minutes, turn the unit off and clean all dehumidifier filters and
coils. If, after adjusting the settings and cleaning the unit, you
still don't see water collecting, you may have a refrigeration issue. In
this case, you will need to get a technician to help check the
refrigeration system.

Just purchased a Danby dehumidifier
Depending on which mode you have the unit set on, will determine if it shots OFF entirely or the fan continues to run. In the Constant or Continual mode, the compressor will turn OFF, once the humidity extraction level has been reached. But, the fan will continue to operate, in an effort to keep the air circulating, so that if the humidity level rises, the compressor will turn ON and start extracting again.
In Timed Mode (usually 2 hour or 4 hour) , when the compressor turns OFF the fan does too.
Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

My dehumidifier ices up any suggestions thanks
Evan, a dirty or clogged air intake filter can cause it to freeze, as well as obstructed air flow around the unit. Maintain a minimum or 12" clear air space all around the dehumidifier. Also operating the unit in temperatures below 40 degree (F), will also cause the coils to freeze. In addition, low refrigerant in the compressor can cause the coils to freeze. In which case, recharging the gas should solve the problem, And finally, worse case scenario is that the defrost cycle sensor has failed and needs to be replaced.
If you find you need parts and/or service and don't want to tackle it yourself, go to the Danby link below and enter your Zip Code.

Dehumidifier doesn't turn on
The water in your sump pit needs to be no more than 2-3 inches, this is enough to keep your pump happy and make sure it works properly when you need it to. Equally, the pump should start to work when the water level is still 6-7 inches below the level of your floor. https://www.homoq.com/proper-sump-pit-water-level/

My Danby dehumidifier leaks out
The drain tube or hole that drains into the bucket is probably clogged.
Turn the unit OFF and remove the bucket. Look in the cavity where the bucket was removed for a drain tube or drain hole. Using an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar (No wire coat hangers) , that's appropriately sized to fit in the hole. Carefully feed the ZIP Tie into the hole or tube and thread it as far as you can. At some point the drain will curve, but you have to carefully get past this point. Once the Zip Tie has reached as far as it can, slowly pull it out while rotating it. This will loosen the clog. Once you have it half way out, be prepared for water to follow. This method should solve the problem.
