Im trying to view previously recorded videos on my camcorder but its asking me to reformat it

Yes, this happened to my miniDVD-R and -RW disks as well. No, don't reformat the disk !I've been able to recover all (if not most) of the contents - video clips from those (bad/corrupted) miniDVD-RW ... and miniDVD-R disks ... (that I had recorded using the Samsung camcorder). I use the software tool - IsoBuster Pro . Inserted the mini-DVD into the DVD drive on my PC/laptop, and started the software . The process (to recover) may be very long .. i.e. it may take several to many hours for one miniDVD disk ... but it eventually enable me to retrieve the (lost) video clips.

Someone did my wedding video, it wont finalize,

Unfortunately, only video and/or pictures from your (SD Memory) Card can be transferred (via the USB cable) to your computer. Video/pictures from a disk is not accessible to your computer.
So, you may wish to try to playback the video (on the camcorder) with the output to a DVD recorder (using the AV cables from the camcorder to the DVD recorder or a VCR recorder). This assumes you have a DVD recorder (or VCR recorder) that will take the RGB input from the camcorder. Connect it up just like you're viewing the playback on a TV monitor.

How do i play whats on the memory card nothing

First, make sure you have it on CARD (and not DISK), and on the "playback" (and not record) mode. Next, does the camera play back other video clips normally, but just not a specific clip ?
Does the selected video clip frame (index) shown on the LCD screen have a picture ? If not, i.e. it is blank (dark), then it is likely that no video was recorded (i.e. just the audio) when you were shooting that video clip.
If there is a picture (of the video clip frame index on the LCD screen) and only audio is playing, try downloading the clip (from the SD card) to your computer, or simply try to play the video on the SD card (inserted directly into your SD card reader on your computer, or via a USB SD card reader) and see if the video clip will play normally on your computer.

The camcorder won't turn off.

Make sure it is not plugged into your computer. If you have the camcorder plugged in via your USB connection, then your camcorder is being powered by your computer.

Unplug everything from your camcorder and then try to turn it off or take the battery out.

Formatting the disk

Yes, the mini DVD-RW will work on this camera. When you insert the disk and power on the camcorder (with the mode on DISC), the camcorder will try to read the disk, and if it isn't formatted yet, the LCD display will offer you the option to format it (in VR or Video mode). Simply select and click to format the disk

Cannot seem to turn my camcorder off----was doing

If you turn the power (wheel) to off, and it still doesn't turn off, there's a problem with the power switch - it probably has nothing to do with the battery. And it would need to be repaired (at one of the authorized repair center - see your manual for contact info).

I lost the software to my Samsung camcorder.

It seems only video and/or pictures from your (SD Memory) Card can be transferred (via the USB cable) to your computer. Video/pictures from a disk is not accessible to your computer.
I have the Software CD ... and can try to email you the driver. But I'm not sure if there's more required (than the driver file).

After recording with a full new battery (and the

The camcorder will shut off (i.e. go into "sleep" mode) after a few minutes of inactivity - to save your battery, particularly when your battery is at half or lower.
I find that my (fully charged) battery lasts only about 30 minutes (or less, if I use the zoom a lot, or, I use the filming (night) light, or I do not put the lens cover on when not in use, or I do not close the LCD display screen). I'll usually power off after completing my shots.
I keep a close watch on the battery meter and switch batteries as soon as it shows a red bar. (Just give it a minute to wrap-up before shutting down). I usually carry a couple of extra charged batteries. A larger (after market) battery that I bought lasted a hour or so, but it didn't hold a charge well after a couple of weeks of use.

Need to unfinalize disks. I had them finalized

If your mini DVD disk is a DVD-RW (or DVD+RW) and it had (previously) been finalized in the VR (or Video) mode, simply select the "unfinalize" option ... (in DISC - Camera mode, from the MENU - Disc Manager - Disc Unfinalize ) ... as in p. 82 of your manual.
If you do not want the video data on the DVD-RW disk anymore, you can simply re-format the disk again, so you can re-use the disk.
