Garmin Nuvi 680 GPS Receiver Questions & Answers
Show charging symbols
Your question was posted under the Nuvi 680 GPS, so I am assuming this is the model that you have.On the main screen, you will see a green battery status indicator in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. The battery is divided into 4 parts. Each part represents 1/4 power. So if you have one green bar, that indicates that the battery has 1/4 of power left. If there are 3 bars, that indicates that there is 3/4 power left. When the unit is charging, you will see a yellow lightning bolt appear over the green battery status icon. When the lightning bolt is not there, this means the unit is running off of the battery. When leaving the unit to charge, press and hold the power button until you see that the screen says Charging Battery. A few seconds later, the screen will go blank to save energy.Pressing the screen again later will either say Charging Battery or Battery Charge Complete.
