I have the same problem with the same model. I've tried these directions but I can't get the setup screen to display. have you had any luck with this?
Mecha error
Hi,
Mecha error refers to mechanical error.
The following error may occur mostly due to two problems:
1.May be the microprocessor or another part may be defective
Or
2.The cd may be damaged.
So To repair it, you'd need to isolate the mechanical part in question and test the various components for wear, dirt or failure.
To do this quickly and safely, you'd need the service manual, which may or may not be available for purchase/download depending upon the year of manufacture and the brand.
If you are not that technical minded then better take it to a local tech or if your product is under warranty then get it repaired as soon as possible.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Sony CDX-M850mp isnt playing any audio from aux or cd input
This issue might be due to a malfunctioning auxiliary input or a problem with the amplifier circuit. You can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:
- Check the connection between the auxiliary input and the head unit to make sure it's properly plugged in.
- Check the audio cable for any signs of damage or wear.
- Make sure the auxiliary input is selected as the source on the head unit.
- Check the amplifier circuit to see if it's functioning properly. If it's not, the amplifier may need to be repaired or replaced.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, it's recommended to have the unit inspected by a professional audio technician.
