No videp playback on Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD only getting sound !!!

Just wanted to add my 2 cents for those who might be having the issue of no video but hear audio. I was having the same problem. I had completed the bypass hack with a single throw/single pole (SPST) toggle switch. I could bypass the warning message and hit the OK button but no video. I did hear audio. I searched everywhere but solution 4 worked for me. The thing for me was that next to the black wire on the harness wasn't empty. It had a purple/white wire with some sort of filter (labeled backup camera hook to reverse gear). I tied into this wire before the filter with another wire (I chose a black wire b/c I was grounding it) and grounded it with the black wire (ground) on the harness. I now have video! Maybe the 4 pole relay hack would have worked better but I had only done the toggle switch hack. I hope this helps others and most importantly thank you Salhi.

Im trying to bypass parking brake switch for

This what you do. Connect the video wire to a power suppy and install a switch in the power wire. When you put the DVD in and the warning comes up, turn the switch on then off. This will allow you to watch the DVD without the park brake being applied.

No sound from ipod, usb

I removed my Pioneeer AVH-P4000DVD from my Tacoma pickup to upgrade to an AVH-X2500BT and installed the AVH-P4000DVD in my mustang cobra and found myself suffering from a strange issue (that seems to have happened to a lot of you too). All of a sudden I had lost my audio on my USB and AUX inputs. I tore the net apart for a solution, pouted, drank, and started doing more and more research, and check instruction manuals. I eventually found the solution based of one lone comment someone had mentioned regarding ground and comparing the wiring diagrams for the two decks. I pulled the pioneer harness out of truck and compared it to the pioneer harness in my car and found an inconsistency. This may solve the issue that plagues you as well. Check the harness you are using. I was not able to find a pinout, but the 4 wires on one end of the harness for the AVH-P4000DVD should be +12V battery, +12V ignition, ground, and ground, (yellow, red, black, and black). If you have received the harness for a newer model of pioneer AVH it will still fit fine but one wire is out of place. The second ground wire you need has been replaced by a purple reverse gear sensor for the backup camera. Ground out the purple wire and it should solve your issue... It did for me. Good luck.

I have a bad wineing noise when my 02 dodge ram

The noise is due to AC ripples in the power supply and so you will need to soften the power supply with the use of a isolated regulation or use of inductor/capacitor filters on the alternator circuit and the power supply to the system. In most systems there are filters but if the alternator has isssues- power regulator or rectifiers- then the noise can be evident. Please check with all the ground connecctions, check battery ground and the grounding of the set. You can try with adding a 0.5mfd/250V capacitor to the alternator circuit to be grounded. Finally check the power amp. ground, use a direct line from the battery with a fuse and avoid the source from the wiring harness.

I just bought a car with a Pioneer avh-p4000dvd.

The first things to check are th antenna connection at the radio and the cable at the antenna. If you have a poor connection, you may still get adequate FM through capacitive coupling, but the lower frequency AM signal would be severely degraded. If the connectors are heavily tarnished, polish them. If you have a telescoping antenna, make sure the sections fit snugly, but are not stuck due to dirt or corrosion (bad connection between sections).

If the antenna is good but you still have poor signal, the AM tuner is probably out of alignment. The alignment procedure is simple enough that it is a lab exercise for second-year electronics students, but it requires an oscilloscope and reference signal generator to get it right.

I have a pioneer avh-p4000dvd

It sure sounds like a plug or wiring issue, aside from a fault with the unit, which is unlikely. Here is a Pioneer Plug for the unit on Ebay, at a reasonable price. I would advise trying it, and starting over. Here it is:
http://compare.ebay.com/like/290434997875?ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&rvr_id=124624054842&crlp=1_263602_263632&UA=WVI8&GUID=ae4225911280a0b58ab2ff22ffeb785a&itemid=290434997875&ff4=263602_263632

Here is another discussion of the bypass wiring:

Here's some more information that might help:

Like I first said, it's probably a wiring or plug issue. Good luck, thanks for using FixYa, and hope this helps!
