You can only use Music CD-R with the logo of Digital Audio, no regular CD-R for data will not work with any CD Recordable, it doesn't matter the brand of CDs. Remember that, I have a player like your and Sony, and that's the catch.

Hello ? I would like to assist you. Kindly confirm you have the right tools to open and maybe a meter to make diagnosis easier. But before that, kindly tell me if the output speakers were working properly before the machine went completely silent.

Sorry but no Navigation Suppourt, however you can use your iPhone or iPod/iPad's Maps or your choice of Navigation App to see Navigation Instructions and Features on Screen, compatible with Android as well. I'll attach a link and a few pics, mo Navigation Suppourt but nearly everything else. No Navigation in Menu or Inputs for Navigation Antenna on Rear with all other inputs. Check it out and see what option you like best. I'd use screen mirroring and go the iPhone route(or android if Apple isn't your preference). Did you try unplugging the dvr? It may reset it.
