the broblem is either in the backlight of the screen or in the converter of this screen and you need one knowing electronics to change the backlight and check the board but it appers to be backlight

Normally a monitor will come out of sleep mode merely by moving the mouse or hitting a key on the keyboard. It all has to do with your power settings. If in Windows, click on START/ControlPanel/Power Your Power settings determine how long your monitor stays on as well as hard drive disks when computer is idle. Just select a longer period of time or "Never" for monitor shut off settings.

You have a monitor with a defective power board. If you can solder you should be able to repair the monitor yourself. The problem is caused by blown capacitors on the power board. Go to our web site at : www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm We have pictures of what to look for. Open your monitor and look at the power supply board for any blown capacitors, replace all that you find. The replacement parts can be ordered from several places on the internet or we can supply them for you. The replacement parts will need to be high temp and will be marked 105c. The values you need to get will be marked on the sides of the ones you take out but will be something like 220uf, 470uf, or 1000uf etc. and then a voltage rating. When you install the new ones be sure to insert them with the polarity stripe going the same direction as the old ones come out. Make sure that you have selected the right input on your monitor. Usually laptops have an analog output (a plug with 15 prongs in 3 rows), and thus you need to select analog input on your monitor.
Also when you press the appropriate key combination on your laptop (usually Fn + F8), wait, say, 15 seconds for reaction before you press it again - it takes some time for the monitor to come back from power saving mode.

You'll need to change your resolution to one of the below to get the correct aspect ratio for a wide-screen display.

1440 x 900
1600 x 900
1600 x 1024
1680 x 1050

You will find these settings in Control Panel / Display / Advanced. If none of the above are options you will need to obtain newer display drivers.

Uninstall the video card drivers and reboot.Windows will automatically reinstall on reboot.IF no go try your monitor on another computer ,if it shows properly you might want to replace your video card.

Usually this is a problem with the backlight, or inverter. Most of the time the inverter is the problem which is a pretty cheap fix. If its the backlight, then you will have to replace the lcd, which is much more expensive.

Normally this is caused by the power inverter for the lcd. It is a small circuit board right below the lcd, that powers the backlight. If you take off the front bezel of the laptop you should be able to see it, it will have a 2 wire power cord coming out the one end, and another plug in on the other end with several wires.

Check ebay for a replacment but make sure you get an identical model as the one you have, as they are very specific to each laptop. The inverter will have the part number written on it.

"No signal" error may be due to various reasons which include:

1. The cable is not attached securely to the VGA socket on either the computer or the monitor end. Remove the cable and reconnect it securely.

2. The cable or the cable pins are damaged. Check the cable for any visible damage or bent pins.

3. The video card or the on-board video of your PC has malfunctioned. Connect your monitor to another source to rule out this cause.

Do you see a green power light with connected and power on with computer connected ?
If so, remove the connection at the computer video card, you should see a no signal message.
If you do not have a power on lamp, either amber or green, you do not have A/C power to the unit.

Loose Connection Possibly. If not try Unplugging from the Electric.Leaving for a 5 Minutes. Then plug all cables back in and try again.

If this dosn't help then you may have had a power surge. Its hard to say what has happened if you have had a power surge, they can do all sorts of things

probably needs new voltage regulator for backlight. it would probably be cheaper to just buy a new monitor
