Goldstar DH3010B Dehumidifier Questions & Answers
I have a gold star
Quite possibly, Sara the hose drain tubing was not seated firmly. or the tubing running to the hose connection is partially clogged . When this happens water is diverted to the bucket.
To solve the clogging issue do the following:
Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it.
Remove the the tubing adapter and using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic
Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connection hole & tubing.
Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will
need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either
bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip
Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs.
As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water
may follow. Reinstall the the tubing adapter and tubing, plug the unit in and turn the Master
ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or
Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run,
while you monitor the drain tubing for water flow and leakage. It may take 10 minutes to start flowing, so be patient.
NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers.
I hope this helps you to solve the problem and thanks for choosing FixYa.
No water collecting, unit running
the collector base under the tubes just collects water and drips it through a hole into the water bucket. there must be a loose hose(if it has one) or the base collector or bucket has a crack, as they usually are plastic. also if the unit is sitting on a very uneven floor this will happen
Dehumidifier ices up on back - Why?
If this is dripping and making a water problem yep it needs some insulation on it as long as everything else is working OK. If it seems short of capacity and or not dehumidifying the problem may be short of refrigerant. You don't mention any of this so I'm thinking its OK and not a problem just how it works in your application.
Hope this helps Please rate me accordingly and good luck.
Fan motor stopped working, replacement went out too!
I would look for another outlet for you to plug it in before you start anything elaborate. I assume you've done this already but spin the motor/blade. If it spins and there is little or no play in the shaft or blades causing a blade to bind up the mechanical part seems ok.
Now if you have a volt meter First check the motor for voltage, Then if you have voltage, compare it to the rating on the motor. Usually a voltage within 10% is ok. Next test resistance on the wires of the motor any resistance and the winding is probably okay. If not then the motor is out again. If you have lost voltage the control board is your next part to test. No voltage out to the motor there on the board plug and the board is the problem Power there woudl mean the motor has too high a resistance and Id check the resistance on a differant known good motor before replacing it. just so you know where you started.
Is a gold star dehumidifier supose to be noise
I can't hear YOUR dehumidifier and can't tell if it's out of the ordinary, but dehumidifiers have all the same internal parts as a refrigerator with the addition of a fan to blow air through the coils to keep them from freezing up. They do tend to be a bit noisy.

Charge the compressor
unplug and wait a few minutes then reconnect to power to clear buttons not working , then ck filter to see that its not clogged use a flashlight to view inside to see if a heavy coating of dust exists iniside case , if so you might be able to save it if you unplug and remove case to access inside and clean out with vacuume hose coils are most important to get clean

Hi, we have an older
Yes, you have a 40 pint Goldstar Dehumidifier. The holding tan., also referred to as a bucket fits into the bucket holder on the front of the unit. When installing it, be sure it fits "squarely" in to the holder from top to bottom. The bottom should not tilt down at all, when installed properly. The unit will not operate without the bucket being installed properly.
Hope this helps you, Ken and thanks for choosing FixYa.
