The CS5111-2 isn't an answering machine. Please refer to the documentation for whatever answering machine you have on your phone line.

Most voice mail services require you to dial your own # to retrieve VM. Mine does not require me to use my area code. Yours may or may not (depending on your service provider). You may need a passcode to get into it the first time (maybe not). Your passcode will either be - the last four digits of your SS# or a four digit passcode that will be listed on your monthly bill. However, once you are in you can change your preferences. You can even set it so that you don't need a passcode at all when calling from that #. Only problem with setting it that way is you can't check your messages when calling from any other #.

The CS5111-2 isn't an answering machine. If you have a separate answering machine connected, please refer to its documentation. If you subscribe to a voicemail system offered by your phone company, please contact them for instructions.

Hi,

follow the below procedure to successfully reset the date and time on our Vtech CS5111-2 Twin - - Phone;

1. Press the "MENU/SELECT" button.
   
2. Press the up or down arrows until you highlight "SET DATE/TIME," then press the "MENU/SELECT" button.
3. Enter the month number on the key pad, then press the "MENU/SELECT" button to switch to the day. Press "MENU/SELECT" again to enter the year.
4. Press the "MENU/SELECT" button and "SET TIME" will show up on the screen. Use the key pad to change the hour, then press "MENU/SELECT" to change to the minute. Press "MENU/SELECT" again to change to A.M. or P.M.
   
5. Press the "MENU/SELECT" button. The phone will beep immediately after the button is pushed to alert you that the time and date are set.

Your phone can retrieve messages ONLY if you subscribe to a voicemail service through your phone company. It does not have a built-in answering machine/voice mail feature. 1. Unplug and re-plug the usb cable from the base station to your Skype computer.

2. Make sure Skype is running.

3. Re-install the vtech software (you can download it at http://www.vtechphones.com if you need to)

4. When Skype asks if it's ok to let it connect, do that.

call your own phone number, and once it asks for the password type in the last 4 digits of your phone number.
