Have pixelated lines that run across the screen
You really don't other then sending it in. The cold cathode tubes for the back light causes an expansion and contraction do to heat between the LCD glass and these little IC ribbons that lay between the LCD glass and the signal processor's main board. The reason why they get worse when you turn it off is because the colder temperatures make the ribbon cables contract off the LCD's glass pane. There is not a convenient or easy fix for this at all.
The tv turns on but screen stays black and flickers to a brighter black
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times.
