portable DVD's encounter that problems more often.because of its folding action,the flat wire connecting the screen to the DVD board breaks and causes no picture.try to open it up and check it or bring to a tech.

The error disc usually means a dirty or bad optical pickup in the unit--DVD are more complex than CD etc and blu ray even more so.

I have tested mpg, avi, wmv and no luck yet.

im sorry but your dvd laser has gone the only thing i can advise is wipe it with isoprpal alchohol wipes ie sterile wipes but if not working its the laser im sorry i hope this has helped

this is either a video driver error caused by out of date drivers or trying to display something your computer does not have the capacity for if you meet the min system requirements and your drivers are up to date try displaying other programs to make sure that you find the same lines if after updating drivers you still have lines either the monitor or graphics card has burnt out

Max battery recharge about six hours.Old baterry inside like a 1 or 2 years olds.Should plugin charger and chagres 8 hours to max like a new battery.

Well it seems that the problem must because of the battery, may the it's time to change the battery of your player. 

How old is your DVD Player?
Is this Player works in charging mode (when charger is plugged to it)? If yes then sure you need a new battery for your Player. Please reply for further help or information........

Well first of all you can please follow the below steps -
1. First of all clean the laser lens with a DVD laser lens cleaning disc. DVD laser lens cleaning discs can be purchased at most electronics retailers or online. Insert the laser lens cleaning disc and follow the instructions.
2. Insert a correctly-formatted, undamaged disc into your player. Listen to see if it begins to read the disc. If it continues to make no sound and gives you the same message, then the problem is probably that your disc is not spinning in the device.
3. Turn the device off and unplug it. Take off the outer casing by removing the three or four screws and lifting the top piece off. This will allow you to see if anything is simply stuck or jammed. If this is the case, a simple nudge back to the correct position will fix the problem. 
4. Clean the lens while the DVD player is open. A dirty lens is most likely the cause of your no-disc error. The lens should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab. Please post comments for further help or information........

The reason the DVD player shows no disc is because the laser?lens is either weak or dirty.

If it is weak, i requires replacement,

to replace it,
get the appropriate screwdriver,
Unscrew the compartment underneath the player,
carefully detach the panel and remove the old lens and replace it with a new one.

Carefully fix the panel back and close the compartment.

Test it with a DVD.

If it is dirty, then all you have to do is to clean it with a DVD lens/laser cleaner.

do you get a splash screen when there is no Disc playing ( something that says something like DVD VIDEO). If not and the scren is just always black then it sounds like the backlighting circuit has failed

the usb port is used to view pictures and videos off a computer or camera using the correct format

Ihave the same problem and someone else posted that because it gets folded alot a flat wire may have broke.

normaly in this condition the laser pick up is defactive first you clean the pick up with cd cleaner if problum solved ok other wise you have to change the pick up from any otherized service shop
