I want to selectively delete

Hi!

Kindly remove the card from from the camera.
Take a close look at it. You'll see a little switch on it's side - just move it to the opposite direction... It's basically a safety switch used to lock the card and prevent accidental deletion of pictures or writing additional ones on it.
Once to move the switch the card should be unlocked and you should be able to use it normally and be able to delete any picture you want!

I want to selectively erase

first if the photo's are write protected..this is probably an issue with the card ...see that the card has a button on the side if it is a SD card and you have to put it in unlock mode..
another issue to get into the view mode you have a button on the display side that select the mode after you open it ..and if it opens in shooting mode it will open in view mode also ..but even so you will have to erase them one by one in this way ..
My suggestion is to connect it to a computer using the driver and the data cable ..and after you did that ..look into the my computer folder and if you have a card in the camera it will see it like removable storage device and the pics will be inside that folder..and all you have to do is right click on picture and properties and here un-check the view only for to be able to copy and erase them...
or if you do not have a card but is on the internal memory ..try to see if it sees the camera into my computer folder and it will behave the same ..select the one you want to erase and ...choose delete ..or ..if they ar e not seen ..you will have to use a photo manager to import the pictures..ACDsee 9 will work ..
If this do not work ...or you didnt understood what I explained ..please let me know ..and explain more what kinda device ,,and if it has or not a card ..

The battery is completely charged, but the camera

Its probably a camera problem.

But you could try a little trick, polish the battery contacts with a clean dry cloth. Try the same with the contacts inside the camera, possibly a cotton bud job this. I can't say it will work but worth a try.

How do I set the timer?

Press the self-timer button. It's the bottom part of the cross-shaped button on the back, marked with a clock icon. Each press of the button cycles between ON and OFF.

After pressing the shutter release button completely, the self-timer lamp lights for approximately ten seconds, blinks for approximately two seconds, then the picture is taken.

To cancel the self-timer, press the button again.

The self-timer is automatically canceled after one shot.

I think i have put the battery in the wrong way

How about needle-nosed pliers? Or something more radical...super glue something to the bottom of the battery and when it sets, pull it out.

Pls help i have a problem with my olympus camera

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position nearest the contacts enables writing, the position farthest from the contacts protects the card from writing. If the slide is already in the proper position, try sliding it fully the other way and then back again.

If that doesn't work, try a different card.

My Pentax SPII shoots blank images

You can check the shutter without film in the camera. Remove the lens and open the film door. You will see the cloth curtains of the shutter in the center. Advance the film lever to **** the shutter and set the speed dial to a slower speed like 1/15. Hold the camera so it is aimed a a light source, (a window will do) and fire the shutter. You should see the light through the shutter for the time duration is is set to. (1/15). If you see the light source, repeat the process going up one speed setting until you reach 1/1000. If you see the shutter open and close as described, then try another roll. After you load the film and close the back door, make note of what the rewind knob is doing as you advance the film. It should spin counter-clockwise each time. That is a easy test to know that the film is traveling in the camera properly. Vary your exposures with the new roll at different speeds and f-stops. You should get exposures, but if not let us know.

I have an olympus camera. It's a stylus 850SW.

A "little over a year ago" means no warranty. Besides, the warranty wouldn't cover damage due to dropping the camera. If the camera still works, you can use a card reader to download your pictures and eliminate the need for "the side part that plugs into the computer."

It is still under warranty. As long as you didn't exceed the water depth recommendations, Olympus should fix or replace it.

There is a switch on your sd card to lock for writing protection. Make sure it is unlock mode, instead of lock mode.

Cant take a pic says card is full

If this is a brand new memory card, the two things to do/check are:
- Make sure the camera supports 2GB of memory (manual should say that)
- Format the memory card - the manual should give detailed instructions of how to navigate through the menu and perform a format on the memory card

How do i delete all pictures from memory card at

The best way to do this is to reformat the card, an option which must be in the settings menu somewhere. This has the added benefit of resetting everything on the card. As a matter of fact you should always do this once you have downloaded the most recent batch of pics.

Shots cannot be seen because

Since the camera's flash only has Fill-in mode, auto mode, flash OFF mode, red-eye reduction, there really isn't much you can do with the settings to adjust it. I had this camera for a while (bought for the underwater feature), and at first to limit the brightness of the flash, I would allow my middle finger to cover a portion of the flash on the front of the camera to limit the amount of light it disbursed. After that, I tried using scotch tape over it. Not the very clear type, but the type that has more opacity (foggy) to it. That worked a lot better and was more consistent than my finger method. Short of any other sort of home "fix" that can be thought of, the camera is basically a lower end camera but has other features that are just as good as higher end cameras. I hope this helps and good luck.
