Scanner wont work

Welcome to FixYa!Tri color cartridge problems sometimes occur in HP printers, there are some troubleshooting steps which may solve this problem:-Some times this problem is solved by cleaning the contact of color cartridge.For this Take the cartridge out and clean the contacts off with something (ie: pencil eraser, your thumb), It may solve the problem.If problem still exist then Partial resetting sometimes resolve this issue, You must follow the given steps to Partial Reset it:-Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer, and then wait for 20 seconds.Press and hold # and 3 on the printer control panel while connecting the power cord to the back of the printer Release the buttons when the printer turns on. The reset is complete.I hope this resolve the issue, But unfortunately if problem still exist then it may because of some hardware issue of Tri Color Cartridge. If your printer is still in warranty then claim the warranty. surely you got software with the all in one printer. if you have plugged in the printer before you installed the software then this sort of thing happens. if this is the case them un install the the printer completely switch off the pc wait ten seconds and reboot the system them install the software without the printer in. once software is installed then plug in your printer and the pc should recognise it.

Replace tri color cartridge..But ensure that mono cartridge must be in good health printing condition,other wise alignment won't completes..
Change Language
Hello Paul crisp,To change the language on your printer you need to:-
- Turn on the printer.
- Press the *and # buttons.Release the buttons.
- *******##### will be displayed.
- Now press buttons 1,2 and 3 until there appears the resetting menu.press the OK button twice.
- This procedure shuts down the printer such that when you turn it on again,the language settings will have to be set.Select your option.

If I may ask,which version of windows are you using?
Vista,Xp,Windows7?They all have different modes of scanning.
Lets start with Vista:-
- See the window vista icon,click on that and then on all programs.
- Click on windows photo gallery.
- Click on file and select import from scanner option.
- Click import and then on scan.
windows Xp:-
- On the start menu,click on all programs.
- Move to accessories and then on to paint and click.
- Click on file and then select 'from scanner'
- You can set the changes you want and then click on scan.
Windows 7:-
- Click on the windows icon and then on to programs.
- Click on windows live photo gallery.
- Click on file and then 'import from scanner'
- Click import.
- You can set the changes you want and then click scan.
