You can purchase a new track ball and retainer ring off of ebay for less than $5.00 and its very easy to install. just line up the tabs and push down on the chrome retainer ring till its flush with the buttons. Just search for key words "blackberry track ball" on ebay.

You need to go to blackberry.com and download the latest Blackberry Desktop Software for your phone. It can then reload and/or upgrade the OS on the phone. Yours appears to be corrupt so you would need to use this method or use an MFI Multiloader but that is your next option if this doesn't fix it for you.....
