coke has acid in it, it's a conductor, you have more problems than a motherboard, such as a bad lcd bad speaker sticky buttons(sucrose). the solution to your stated question assumeing you want to throw away money is to use e-bay and buy a phone with a bad lcd mising buttons or something to that nature basically a bad phone that has everything wrong with it accept the motherboard and bid low.
my advice is because this is an older phone just buy a working one off e-bay or a used phone site, unfortunately tho because this is such a great phone despite it's age, it's in demand, and you'd be lucky to find one for 30 dollars at an avrage of around 50. they go fast

call the customer service of your service provider ( AT&T,Vodafone,Verizon etc)....they will set up message center number on your phone , the one that you have might be incorrect...your mobile operator will send you sim updates that will refresh the settings ....and then you will get the text message options

My best idea is to use the "pureawesome" flatscreen cleaner. It is used on most computer screens too. Use very little and your S E will be clean again.

I had a similar problem when dealing with my own phone of the same type. The only permanent solution is to engage the master reset which you can find in the settings folder. A temporay solution is to go to your outbox, and you'll have a message that either has a little red x on it or just is a plain letter shape. if you try to delete this it will say one or more messages can't be deleted. make sure you change it's status to canceled, then select it choose send to drafts. make sure there are no messages in your outbox and only the one message you just moved to drafts in that folder. it still will npot allow you to delete the message. remove your battery while the phone is still on. replace reboot go to drafts and you should be able to then delete the message from drafts. if you still can't the only option i see, which is what i did, is to use the master reset

This is something that you need to discuss with service provider. If you are able to see sending icon and ultimately, not able to send, either you need to change SIM MESSAGE CENTER NUMBER which is only to be offered by Service provider. There might be a chance that there might be a glitch from their side . ( I have seen many cases like this ).

Note - I am taking into consideration that the General settings are all fine. Make sure you have not disabled send messages option.

you need to find website that has the mms settings i had to do the same thing on my unlocked motorola so i could acess the web on my phone

if you used a hair dryer then your lcd screen is shot. the heat dries out the crystals, for the next time this happens to your phone try filling up a bowl of rice and submurging your phone in the rice for about 2 days the rice will soak up the the water, also you can try to but some phone tools and open up the lcd display (your phone's warranty is already voided unless you have insurance) and also put those parts in the rice you should not have tried to power up your phone, but i would give the rice a shot. on a side note.

possibly the mic is broken, try recording yourself on ur fone with voice recorder, if it wont record like that then its ur mic x

call your service company (i.e. sprint tmobile, altell.) they can provide you with a code or they might be able to get you a whole new phone... tmobile has done both for me….

Yes, perhaps that an add on and you might have to ring your provider and get the phone enabled. I disabled mine because I kept hitting the browser button and got charged everytime it happened even though I didn't access the internet. Anyway do this I am sure it will work, watch charges though, make sure you are covered, or aware of what it will cost.

Ahh, same thing happened to mine. Completely ruined my phone. I can say from personal experience that you're going to have to send it back. There's nothing you can do, mate. =[
