When you connect a hard drive and any other USB device to a 4 port hub you have to use the external power supply all the time. You may have fried the power pins on the USB port you used to connect the 4 port hub. If you can get the hard drive to work separately on the USB port, the 4 port hub may no longer be passing power from the laptop.
The solution is likely replacement of the button switch portion. Be careful of applying too much pressure... often they have plastic hinges for the buttons and they can be broken by applying too much pressure in an attempt to get them to work.
well what software are you using. They is plug n play capable w VDJ and the drivers if there any should be on vestax's site or on a disk that came w the software. and if you need mappings for it meaning to your controller works with tratoktor www.djtechtools.com like i said you might not need a driver for it but let me know
It is an either/or thing. I would recommend you get a headphone amplifier or get external speakers and drive them externally. Internal speakers are relatively poor quality anyway
There probably is a conflict with the camera hardware and or driver. Your best help may be on those Vestax forums. You could try removing the camera drivers in the Sony... but it may be a hardware conflict that may have no solution.
The electronics of a USB port is fairly robust. Why do you think the USB port needs replacing? Or do you just mean the connector... Even those are fairly robust and if they wiggle, they may just need to be resoldered to the circuit board.
and download the .tks file for your version of Traktor. Suggest you save it to the Traktor program directory.
Then within Traktor in the controller settings section, load the .tks file, save and you're good to go. Obviously you can tweak the configuration as much as you like once it's loaded. Suggest you always keep a backup of the original.
I suspect this uses an optical pickup. You need to open the unit and look at the sensor. If it is an optical pickup, then use the canned air pressure to clean the area of dust.
If it happens to be a mechanical switch, then the mechanical encoder has to be replaced.
