When I connect the mini

We can't guess what type mixer you might be using, HOWEVER check if the units are compatible by verifying that both either have or don't have balanced interconnections. If the pad is unbalanced and the mixer requires balanced lines, when you plug this in you will get a 6 Db drop (reduce to 1/4th power). It may not work at all when not on bypass. Check the specs in your user manual of the mixer, whatever model it may be.

I can't get any sound

The Mini KP generates Stereo output and you would run it to either a stereo channel on your mixer before the amp or into two channels of your mixer board and PAN them to opposite sides.

If you try to connect this to a monaural amp, like a guitar amp) your cable will ground out the output of this box. The minimum would be to builld a special resistive mixer to combine the channels before they go to your amp HOWEVER you will lose much of the effects without having a stereo system.

Using just headphones, the only

YES. It is an effect processor. Thus is needs an incoming signal of virtually any kind, (so long as it can be adapted to RCA) in order to actually do what it does. I have had a lot of fun trying all sorts of signals. Have fun!!

I have a new kaoss kp and when I put headphones in

The Mini KP is an effect processor primarily. Sound passes in and through either with or without processing and effecting. Due to this fact you must have an incoming signal to process, or you wont hear anything. However there are a few settings that act more like a synth and tone generator. To initiate an effect you must touch the pad and hold contact. There is a hold button on the lower left side facing down. If you hit this button while an effect is being created, then you can let go without the effect stopping. You can adjust the effect in real time as well. Out of the 99 presets if you have tried them all with absolutely no sound output, then the problem is physical and will need a repair man/woman.

I just got a kaoss pad and having need help

You haven't got a send and return on your cdmp 6000. What I advice you to do is the following: connect the master out, the red/white cinch, to the input of the kaoss pad. Than connect the output of the kaoss pad to your speaker system or reciever. You can now control effects on the master single.

Hi. i cant get the sound to come through

You need to put the Mini Kaoss Pad in direct mode.
Hold down Memory A and press Memory B once, use the dial to select DIR instead of SND.
Hold down Memory A and press Memory B once again to return to normal play mode.

Low Volume using Kaoss Pad Mini while DJing

I'm having the problem too...I'm thinking that maybe getting the DC adapter MAY fix it though as stated in the Manual: "...The output level of the mini-KP will be smaller than its input level. This is because the attenuator circuit is connected at the input section, considering that the mini-KP is used on battery power." so maybe the dc connector will increase output volume?

Korg mini kp only some effects working. Low sound output

I have the same Kaoss Pad mini and have exactly the same problem. I have asked for a solution as well!

The only way I have been able to use live is to turn up master on mixer to compensate, but this is incredibly hard to do if you're not always going through the KP as you have to adjust master volume each time up or down.

I haven't heard any volume problems with the full size Kaoss Pads, think it might just be a KP mini problem.

Korg Kaoss Pad 3 1/4" mic input is shot, need repacement

If you can unsolder the jack, take it to any good electronics supplier and they should be able to sell you a replacement. The manufacturer is not as important as the pin configuration and the height it stands from the surface of the circuit board.

What do i need in a mixer? i want to connect my

For dj use, industry standard would be something like a Pioneer DJM600 mixer. 4 channels w/ effects and a mic input. To use kaoss it's best to go into Send/Return input through the effects. By tapping on Send, all sound is sent out to the kaoss pad, and comes back into the mixer into the Return inputs. By doing this you can have the kaoss pad on sitting next to the mixer ready to apply effects all the time. Then connect the master outputs from mixer into your amp, or straight to powered speakers. Kaossilator is more of an instrument than effects unit, so plug in to channel 3 after your 2 cdjs in channel 1 and 2. You still have a spare channel left. I use 2 x 1200s and 2 x cdjs with kaoss pad through effects channel in this way. A 4 channel mixer is plenty.

Problem using Kaoss Pad for synths.

Okay, maybe this is rude, but TOTALLY ignore Musicaldude's solution, if you haven't already found out the ugly way. Boosting the signal that goes into the KP will just make the input LED light up red and you'll hear digital clipping [gross] and eventually hit a ceiling of all-crappy-staticy-noise and no real guitar left. Having it in the FX loop, and the Headphone-out workaround are smart moves already, except the Headphone out adds noticeable noise/hum vs the usual outs. But to help close the gap between your guitar's volume and the miniKP's internal synths (and program 63 and 65's feedback noizes, which build up even louder than the synths) unplug one of the RCA plugs from the KP's OUTput, pick one, left or right, whichever. You'll notice this gives you a guitar volume boost. BUT its still not enough...the synths and 63 and 65's feedback are still speaker-blowingly loud. Check the manual, it says you can adjust the wet/dry volume by holding down Tempo and Preset A together, then turning the knob and picking 1 thru 99. Make sure you're on the synth setting you want to use already. Do this thing. Play the synth with your finger, while you lower the number with that knob. Stay around 50 if you've got the one RCA plug dangling, around 20 if both are in. Whatever you think matches your usual playing volume. When its where you like it, hold the A or B button (wherever you want to save this) down and click Hold, this will save it onto that preset button. Now from now on, NEVER use 63, 65, or the synths if you're on whatever preset you DIDN'T just save. i.e. If you chose preset B, from now on you can just tap preset B and it remembers your volume adjustment from before, voila, normal-volume touchpad synth. But go back to preset A for every other effect, or you'll barely be able to hear the FX. KORG should've given us more preset buttons to save onto. Godspeed. I've never seen this site before, but I have this pedal, and experienced the same b.s. myself. Now I'm down to one preset button and quick knob-turning. Whee.
