Boss Micro BR Digital Recorder - Page 5 Questions & Answers
I need replacement part
Most of the LCD's in these are specially made for the manufacturer of the units... It is UNLIKELY you can find a source for just the LCD... They seem to have specific patterns for the use they were made...
Suggest you try to find a busted unit that the LCD is OK on... maybe Ebay... to rob one off...
When I turn on my
It sounds like the machine has hardware problems for sure, but hopefully it is not the actual hard drive that has the problems. If so then sadly you may have lost some recordings. Honestly your best bet is to talk with a Boss dealer in your area to get the low-down on what is going on. I would not trust something so delicate to anyone that is not an official Boss person, especially since you have years worth of recordings on there.
They should be able to pull the data off the hard drive though and back it up for you, which is something I would have recommended you do for sure since it is possible that it could go out at any time and keeping all of your recordings in one place on one device is very risky.

BR-1180 freezing & high-pitch ring
Check your power supply to the unit. Low voltage COULD cause this.
Also make sure a setting is not "looping" the audio back into itself.
How to launch a sound file from micro br on a mac
In this device the music files are stored in the SD memory card that is plugged in it - they are in the MP3 folder.
To listen to them you must manually access and launch yourself. To access them you have 2 options:
1 - connect the device to the Mac directly by using an USB cable - the device will be recognized as a standard USB memory key that will be treated as usual.
2 - take out he SD card, put it in a card reader and treat it as usual.

Chances are you need a driver in your PC compatible with Vista. There are MANY compatibility problems with Vista and special devices such as the Micro Br.
I want to download my
It sounds like you have not loaded the driver for the device into your computer. While USB will automatically connect to many devices that are common like printers and mice, these special music devices require support software in the computer.
I think my Micro BR is broken
It is either that you put an incompatible SD card in it. (Believe it or not, many devices will not work with certain SD cards), or the card reader has failed. Try a Scandisk SD card or other popular brand and see if there is any difference in the messages. Otherwise I would say the card reader is faulty.
Just bought Kingston 2GB SD Card for Boss Micro BR
This is likely a compatibility issue. Turn power off and remove the card and make sure the unit comes back to life.
SD card compatibility can be a problem.
You might want to go to VSPLANET.com as there is a lot of info on forums about recorders.
Micro Br says no card
Inspect the card connector for BROKEN off pins or damage to the connector where the card goes. Not sure what type card this takes, but pins that get pushed back in on CF cards are NOT that uncommon, especially if card has had an attempt to put in backwards.
Beyond that I am afraid the cause would be unknown.
You MIGHT try formatting a new card... If it won't go, something in the interface has gone bad.

What are the exact steps to bounce tracks on the
It’s necessary to bounce all of your tracks to a stereo pair of tracks before you can export your song to a computer as a WAV or MP3 file for burning onto a CD.
1. In normal mode, push EXIT and UTILITY until you see BOUNCE on the display.
Note: The upper right corner of the display shows the track you’re bouncing to. By default, “12V2”—Tracks 1 and 2, Virtual Track 2—is selected.
2. Press STOP and REWIND together to go back to the beginning of the song.
3. Press RECORD, and then press PLAY.
4.When the song’s finished playing, press STOP.
i read some stuff online and this should help.
