All you need to do is open the "properties" link, then set the print to black & white. It then doesn't matter what you have left in the other cartridges

Not that I know of. Did you receive a chip with the toner? If not that chip would need replaced to reset the counter;

Remove the yellow drum unit and see if there is streaking on the drum.
If so, you would have to replace the yellow cartridge, Most likely the charge roller or cleaning blade have failed and those both are part of that cartridge.

I believe what you are describing is the transfer belt, and yes you shouldnt even need a screwdriver to replace it., BUT,, call 1-800-835-6100 and follow the prompts for service assistance and parts.
You can describe to them in better detail what you need, they are very helpful and most likely can send you what you need asap.
Believe me, I have just described things to them without manuals and have gotten what I need..

Sometimes you can pull the cartridges out and give them a shaking, and then replace them. Sometimes that will smooth out what is left in the cartridge and allow you to print a few pages out. Beyond that there really isn't much else you can do.

I called Xerox and it seems that it's because the imaging unit is defective. They are seeding me one free of charge. Hope you can do the same...
