Hi,

To set the number of rings before answering via the control panel

1. Press Setup.
2. Press Basic Fax Setup, and then press Rings to Answer.
3. Enter the appropriate number of rings by using the keypad, or press the left or right
arrow button to change the number of rings.
4. Press OK to accept the setting.

Also make sure the Auto-Answer button is on to receive fax automatically

Follow this document which will help you a lot and make sure you are able to print and scan perfectly

To scan a document, open your HP printer ICON on the desktop screen. Then choose "scan" and either picture or document. Make sure you put your paper that you want scanned into the printer before you begin. After you choose scan and picture or document it will automatically pull the picture from the printer and bring it to your computer screen. Then you either accept or reject it. If you dont have your printer software installed go to HP's website and download the full software to run the officejet and install it. You will know if you have the software by checking to see if there is a printer ICON on your desktop.

no sweat...
basically in this case, first it depends on if it is wireless or not...
if wireless, make sure you disable any internet security software you have and test print see if it works if not do step 2..
Step 2: if not wireless, will have to uninstall and reinstall printer, best and quickest solution to problem..
GO to Control panel.
then to Program/Programs and features or Add and remove programs.. then go to the printer software in the list..
Right click on it then uninstall it.. reboot system..
after reboot reinstall the software and it should work, also if you dont have the software like you mentioned in post...
All manufacturers have a copy of their driver software on there website, usually under the support and driver section...
after going to there website it will ask you for your make and model and then it will take you to the support page for the device and whatever you need whether it may be installation information, it will be located on this page of this website...

to install ur printer u need the drivers for ur HP J3680 Officejet All In One Printer. Go to www.hp.com for driver support for ur printer and download the printer drivers.

typically this is a software problem. Please check to make sure you have the correct and most up to date driver installed

First make sure you are placing the right
color cartridge into the right slot.
Most Printers are touchy about the
installation of ink cartridges. If the
instructions say to press the cartridge
into the slot until you hear a loud click,
that's what they mean. If at first you
don't succeed, remove the cartridge and
reinsert it into the slot again and press
on it hard till it clicks.
Then your printer should work properly.

When you give a print command,a dialogue box opens which contains properties,print range all these stuffs,in that there is an option called as 'reverse pages'

.please check weather this box is 'TICKED'.If that box is ticked please remove it. so that you can make the printer to print as 1,2,3,...etc.

The Software disk you are using to install may not have Win 7 Drivers for your PC.

Try to download the Drivers from Web ( 32 bit or 64 Bit ) and install.

Hi,

The HP Digital Imaging Monitor (DIM) software must be running in order to scan from the printer.

1. Click Start , and then click Run .
2. In the Open text box, type msconfig , and then click OK .
3. In the System Configuration Utility window, click the Startup tab.
4. Search the list for HP Digital Imaging Monitor .If HP Digital Imaging Monitor is not on the list, the driver was not correctly installed or a custom install was used. You need to reinstall the software.
5. Select the HP Digital Imaging Monitor check box.
6. Click Apply , and then click Close .
7. Click Restart to restart the computer.
8. Try scanning again
