My office jet L7590 printer suddenly quit on me.

Did you let one of your inks run dry? If so, you need to replace the effected printhead. This model has two, one for black and yellow, and a second for cyan and magenta. If you let the yellow run dry but have tons of black, it still effects the black/yellow printhead. Same with the other, either color going dry makes its printhead go bad. Either printhead will set you back about $75. Easy to remove and replace once you get the new printhead.

Bottom line with this model of printer...DON'T let you inks run dry. A new ink cartridge is $20 vs. $75 for a new printhead.

FYI - This is the most common mistake/problem with this printer. The Inkheads are built to last at least 40,000 prints. That's several years for most of us, that is unless you let the inks run dry.

Hi.

Opening the top lid and checking for paper inside the machine is not enough on an OfficeJet Pro. This printer has many compartment, and looking for paper jam may take some times.

Disconnect the power cable and follow thoroughly the procedure illustrated on HP support website, click here to open.

If that does not work, then call HP. In that case the machine is faulty and must be serviced.

My printer is wierd, the pages get printed with

Sorry to hear that your are having problems with your HP printer.

Are the lines horizontal? The lines are missing from the left to the right margin? Lines missing are only from the left to the middle of the page? Are random?

Let's see each possible failure:

Complete lines missing from the left to the right margin: It means head printer is clogged and needs to be cleaned. Read the user manual for the procedure to cleah the head printer.

Random lines missing from the left to the right margin. It may be caused by lack of ink, perhaps the cartridge needs to be replaced. In case you are using a refilled cartridge, you got a broken one. Several head cleaning may fix it but it will waste a lot of ink.

Random lines, from the left to the middle of the page: It means: Lack of ink - replacing the cartridge may help. If you are using a new cartridge it means the flat cable from the head is broken and needs to be replaced. Suspect of a broken flat cable if the printer is more than two years old.

Most of the times replacing the cartridge fixes the problem. If everything of above is fine, then clean the cartridge connector with a cotton cloth and some alcohol. If there is some ink it may affect the quality of printing.

I hope this helps.

My printer is indicating machine needs a service

Usually when printer give this type of problem the indicator lights blink continuosly; this is indicative of serious ink cartridge issue. Usually when this happens the printer fails to goes through the motions of the printing process, kind of stands still with indicator lights just blinking away. This could be as a result of either of these scenarios.
i. Ink cartridge has developed incompatibility or is incompatible
The Solution is to try an older/another cartridge (doesn’t matter if ink is finished. You must replace cartridge one at a time). If lights stop blinking it confirms that your cartridge has become incompatible or developed incompatibility. Also if your printer is the type that can work with only one cartridge, remove one after the other (closing back the lid/cover) to determine which in the set (black or color) has become incompatible. At the instance the incompatible one is removed and you close the lid, the blinking will stop (for printers that can print with one ink cartridge only). Just replace the incompatible one and start printing again. In most cases the issue is always with one cartridge. But if both are affected, you have to replace both. Because of this type of problem, always keep used cartridges somewhere safe; they come in handy for this type of troubleshooting.
ii. The Cartridge electronic panel is dirty
The electronic panel on the cartridge that makes contact with the cartridge carrier inside the printer is dirty and needs cleaning. This electronic panel is front part of the cartridge with copper “dots”.
The Solution is to try to clean this panel with a piece of folded tissue paper soaked in a bit of methylated spirit. Also try to clean the area in the cartridge carrier/holder that makes contact with the cartridge’s electronic panel (Usually this is more difficult). If you cannot reach it with your fingers, use a stick or something with tissue wrapped around it. Allow to dry well and return the cartridges, close the cover. The blinking should stop if the electronic panel is the issue. Once the blinking stops the printer will print.

Lines are on prints using the HP L7590

I suggest check the waste container where the ink cartridges rest. After some time, ink sprayed into this container during cleaning cycles and builds up to form a heap of solid waste material of ink.

On getting too high it makes contact with the printer head and drags ink across all printed material which is required to be cleaned out. After cleaning, re-aligning and then cleaning the heads.

Also, can use the following steps to clean the paper rollers.
1. Turn the product off, and then unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
2. Remove the rear access door.
3. Wipe the paper rollers with a lint-free cloth that is lightly moistened with distilled or bottled water. Rotate the rollers manually to clean all the way around them.

Fig. Cleaning the paper rollers

4. Allow the rollers to dry completely, and then replace the rear access door.
5. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet, and turn the product on.
Many different types of paper can be used with the product; however, it is possible that even paper that meets all of the guidelines specified for the product might cause print problems. Try printing on a different type of paper or on paper from another manufacturer.

Hope helps with this.
