Where you go to select "no" screen saver, there should be a "Power Settings" button. Press this and in there you can set the power save feature to "never" switch off monitor. Hope this helps. Ian.

Hp w2007 monitor: Powers on but screen is white -

This is an internal problem with the LCD monitor. It is defective and should be returned to the store your purchased it from for a new one. That is the only thing I can really think of if it is not reading properly with a seperate graphics card. It is an internal issue and needs to be repaired.

The lcd fell off the table, no damage to screen

Check and see if the monitor is still in warranty.
If so, send it back for warr. repair.
If not, send it the the junk yard.
The cost of repair for that monitor, would not be worth the trouble.

Resolution issue?

Try using the Toshiba graphics control settings instead of Windows graphics control settings to adjust the resolution.

If a cd came with the HP monitor check it for a help file and possibly drivers that optomize its settings.

No sound on the hp w2007

Those speakers require a certain cable connected to the computer aside from the monitor's own cable.

BRAND NEW MONITOR OUT OF THE BOX? DRIVER WILL NOT

This monitor doesn't need a driver installed. If you can see an image on it, you don't need the driver for it. Windows will install the default monitor driver, and that works for 99.99% of monitors on the market. You need to go into the Display control panel and change your resolution. If the monitor's native resolution isn't available as an option in the control panel, it's because your video card can't display it, not the monitor's fault.

Monitor do not want to come on

The monitor is probably on protection.

To start unplug monitor from power and from computer and test computer with different monitor to find out if it is monitor or computer fault.

If it is computer fault and no video signal , then test:

  • Video cable.
  • Video adapter on PC (sometimes integrated on motherboard)
  • Motherboard.

If it is monitor fault , then the monitor is on protection.

When on protection you keep having a flashing led on front of the monitor , and monitor turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the Monitor goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or a broken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the monitor will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occurr are a blown capacitor on power board, faulty inverter board, faulty input board, or a fault on LCD Digital Controller board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing statebecause of the video cable.

Try moving the video cable, and if the cable is not built in, then also try a replacement cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

if it's a wide screen monitor then the monitor is likely doing the stretching and you have to adjust using the monitor controls (either buttons on the monitor itself or it may have come with software as well if you loaded a CD when you first installed).

I have a HP w2007 20

1st check around the pedestal area on the back most of these are snapped on then you will find some screws to remove then use a knife or similar thin strong object to slide between the two half's of the shell and pry it apart it will pop are snap apart without much issue then you an get to work uncovering the power board and such the vga connection is removable with either a special nut driver or a pair of needle nose pliers turn the nuts and then also maybe the power connector as well then the board should come out and you can inspect for damage based on the damage you describe I bet you will need a new board E Bay will be your best bet at a store called Shop Jimmy, be careful if thescreen is cracked this is all pointless as you will get into some pricey repair to buy a new screen.
Hope this helps.

Black Bars each side of my new monitor wide screen

Right Click on an open spot on your desktop.

If your Operating System is Windows XP, choose Properties from the menu box that pops up when you right click.

A new window will open up. Click the Settings tab at the top right.
On this menu you should see a slider bar near the bottom left under "Screen Resolution". Left Click and hold the mouse button on the grey button and move it on the slider bar over to the right one spot. Then click the Apply button on the bottom right of the box. The screen may flicker for a second and your desktop will change size. If the screen covers the whole monitor and the black bars are gone, that may be the correct resolution. Click OK on the box that has a timer and is asking if you want to keep the screen that size. If the screen does not look correct, click No and you may need to slide the button one more spot over and try the next resolution and Apply until it looks correct.

Under the slider bar as you move it over a line at a time will be 2 numbers like this 1024 X 800, and when you move the bar over the numbers will change. I believe the optimal resolution setting numbers for the 20" monitor you have should be 1680 X 1050 for the widescreen. You may want to try that setting. If it looks too small, try sliding the bar to the left and try each resolution setting.

Here's a screetshot of what the Box with the slider bar looks like: http://technophobik.co.uk/vxp_control_panel/f007_settings.asp

If you have Windows Vista, (it is similiar to XP):

Click the Start Button and click Control Panel in the Start Menu
Click Appearance and Personalization in the new window that opens up.
Click Personalization, then click Display Settings at the bottom
A new box will pop up with the grey button on a slider bar near the bottom left under "Resolution" Slide the button to the right to the next line one spot over on the slider bar and then click the Apply button. The screen may flicker and change the size of your desktop. Click OK if the screen looks correct or click No if it doesn't look correct and try sliding the button over one more line.
