Sound is not working on TV can it be a fuse
If picture is Ok, and problem is only with sound output, There aremainly three chances for this fault. Either the audio output section do not get proper voltage, or the audio output IC has damaged or speakers to the TV has damaged.
The sound on my sony bravia 46
If sound works with a DVD etc look for:Speakers in set are switched OFF.Sound on the set OR A CABLE/SAT BOX is turned down or off.If no to all the above audio circuit in set is suspect.
Why does my sony tv turns off buy its self
All sets have a latch or shutdown which is monitoring things--something wrong it shuts down the set----a general answer:I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves
checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.Answers to issues:1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have to buyand try a board to see if it fixes it or not.4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.If set is opened at least look for puffed up and bad caps like in thisphoto.
Also: All Sony sets usually will have a red light that if set fails to come on will blink a specific number of times---an error code specific to each model set.
Standby mode
Standby power supply runs 7/24 and this should indicate it is not allowing main power supply and hence the set to turn on= short someplace is most likely issue.Does red light blink and in a sequence of blinks?
What's your problem?I have a Sony Bravia 46

Dark screen warm up
can you explain more about dark screen .most of time its tcon board or screen.
Sound loss
HelloCheck the speakers of the TV. If they are OK, check the voltage that comes to the audio output section from the power regualtor section. If the voltage is also OK or seem shorted, the audio output IC of your TV has damaged and the section should be repalce as card basis.
Picture shattered with black and colorful lines, is it fixable?
hello!unless the display panel has been physically damaged, which it seems by your description, replacing t-con board or trying to reconnect panel's ribbon cables first, may solve the problem. otherwise, the cost of new panel voids any reasonable repair.Good luck,Alex.
Sony Bravia 46'' picture has a slight green tint and adjusting the Hue does nothing.
hello!that could be the t-con to main board cable's problem. first, try to tighten grounding screws.those, which connecting grounding latches of the cable. You need to open your set. This cable is a thick shielded one with two 30 or so pins plugs. They are NOT interchangeable. In case you try to swap cable's ends. Try to move latches by hand without unplugging connectors, while TV is running. Very gently! If those moving a bit, you may see "greenge" vanishing. Tighten those screws with "phillipls" screwdriver by hand. if there is no difference, you may need to replace that cable. I'm talking about "greenish" ghosts on the picture, intermittent. If I'm wrong, it might be the main board's issue, but always start with small. Main boards are not interchangeable, factory replacement only! Cables-are.Good luck,Alex.
Does it have a sleep timer?
hello!yes, it has the one! you need to go to the menu, setup portion of that. you'll see: clock set, timers, etc. That's where you will find it. A bit complicated, but possible. If your remote lacks "sleep" button, get the one with it. good luck,Alex.
The screen went big so we cant see the whole picture
hello!looks like your TV picture in a "zoom" mode. Find "screen format" button on your remote control and set desired size. It, also could be named "format". Some models require to use customer setup menu.Set format on "auto" mode, if possible.Good luck,Alex.
How to control my cable box with the tv control
hello!refer to your TVs owners manual. You will find codes for common set top boxes there. all the new TV remotes are universal. If you see "cable" or "cbl" button on remote, you will be able to do so. Worst case scenario: you need to buy universal remote or use your cable box's remote to control basic functions on TV. Codes for TVs are included with cable box's remote control. Or, you can call your provider and ask for "Sony Bravia"codes. If you have a satellite box, codes are supplied right inside "setup" menu of the box.Good luck,Alex.
