You can use either the HDMI or VGA interface to connect your computer to the tv. Make sure your computer has the matching plug type!

Your TV is not at fault, it is showing you the difference between HD and non HD channels. HD TV's work great with HD scorces but don't usually look that great with standard definition, Also the non-HD channels are more likely to be heavily compressed which makes them look bad too.

You need to check the input selection on your tv on screen menu. Some AV in settings will pick up part of a signal but not all. Make sure you try all input selections.
To prove that the problem is not in the AV lead.....try connecting it on another small tv with a known working DVD/TV combination.

Check if the remote is still transmitting. You can do this with a digital camera. Point the Remote at the camera's lens then start pressing buttons on the remote. If you see a blinking light from where the remote transmits on the digital camera's LCD screen, the remote is functioning properly.

If you do not see it transmitting, replace the batteries. If it still does not work, the only thing you can really do is get a new remote, there is no way to reprogram the LG remote. You can get a universal for for pretty cheap or you can contact LG to get the exact replacement remote for your TV to ensure it has all the functions needed.

I'm afraid you have damaged the screen, it's lucky that you still get a picture if there is a hole in the corner, the only way to repair it is to have the screen replaced.

Have you tried to fit the stand the other way around for the bracket to fit into the slot? This stand can be deceiving as the support arm will not fully insert into the slot if it is positioned facing the wrong way.

check the screen resolution from your manual, your computer display resolution must match your tv spec.

You probably need a audio cable that runs from the pc audio out to the TV audio in. Radio shack has them so do a lot of hardware store and best buy.

The cost of a screen from LG is £430, this is a trade price so you would need to add on extras such as VAT, handling/delivery charges etc, which could take it to near £500. Possibly try looking on e-bay for any cheaper alternatives as this would take the cost close to the price of a new TV.

It is hopeless, the new screen will cost as much as a new TV. Bummer.

go into the menu and look at the closed caption option----if TEXT is highlighted--this is your problem---select CC! or if it has it OFF.The TEXT will only appear on certain channels and it most likely was activated by someone changing the closed caption options. If this has been helpful give me a vote to let me know.

You need to adjust correctly the channel for game or to check up connections.
