Having trouble mounting a LC420SS8 VESA mount

There are 6 mounting screws located on the back panel that can be used as mounts points if you wish to construct a DIY mount (or if you don't want to purchase the official mounting bracket). See the manual for their exact locations.

I used 2 of these screws (the top two) to anchor a twisted steel cable that I designed to work in the same manner as a picture frame cable mount. I then drove a masonry nail into the brick chimney above my fireplace, and connected this steel cable to that mount point. The TV is mounted there, much like the way you would hang a painting (a very large & heavy painting). The bulk of the weight is supported by the front edge of the TV, which rests on a brick mantel that is part of my chimney. The steel cable, while strong enough to fully support the TV, only acts as a balancing wire, or to catch the TV should it topple forward off of the mantel.

Be sure you know how to work with steel cable and have a strong anchor point if you try to use this method. DO NOT USE THIS METHOD FOR DRYWALL ONLY APPLICATIONS. USE FOR EITHER WOOD STUDS or MASONRY APPLICATIONS ONLY.

Have pic n pic on tv. need to know how to turn it

Try the PIP button on your tv or remote. Check your manual. Since you did not provide us with a model or manufacturer it is nearly impossible to solve your problem other than directing you to the basics.

NO PICTURE ONLY SOUND TLA04011C TV

If an LCD TV has sound but no picture do the following:

Use the source button to ensure that source is not set to the wrong input.

Try unplugging power cord for ten minutes, to ensure it is not a setting problem.

Check all the video cables at the back of TV.

Check Light /Color settings.

If problem persist and does not depend on external receiver or settings, then it is likely an internal fault.

If it has sound but no picture then one of the following parts is faulty, and must be tested and replaced:

The inverter is the high voltage board that provides variable power to the backlight lamp. This is the most common. When inverter is faulty you can get no picture, or a very dim picture that can only be seen by pointing a torch light with a 45 degree angle on the LCD surface from very near distance.
The inverter must be tested by reading voltages with a multimeter.

The LCD ribbon cable/LCD display and connectors.
This is quite uncommon, but happens. If the TV had been hit or moved the LCD cable may have slipped out, or the LCD connector may be damaged.

The LCD controller board.
This is the board that controls the video signal, it is difficult to test, as there is need to read determined values on IC pins. To test this board you need to purchase a service manual and follow the troubleshooting diagrams on service manual.

Input/Output Signal boards.
This are the boards where you connect the video and audio cables, if a signal board is defective, then you may get no picture on particular inputs located on faulty board.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual.

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Need remote code for LC420SS8

SEARCHING FOR YOUR CODE
If your home entertainment device does not respond to the remote control after trying all of the codes listed for your brand, or if your brand is not listed at all, try searching for your code.
For example, after trying all of the codes for your TV, you still cannot get the remote control to operate your TV, then:
Turn on your TV.
On the remote control, press TV once. Then press and hold Setup until the key blinks twice, then release Setup.
Enter 9 - 9 - 1- 1. The TV key will blink twice.
Note: Substitute 1 with 0 if searching for a Cable code, 2 if searching for a DVD, VCR or PVR and 3 if searching for an Audio device.
Press Power and aim the remote control at the TV and press CH + one or more times until the TV turns off.
NOTE: In the search mode, the remote control will send IR codes from its library to the selected device, starting with the most popular code first.
Press Setup once to lock in the code. The TV key will blink twice.
To search for the codes of another device, repeat steps 1 to 5, but substitute the AUX key for the auxiliary device you are searching for.

I have an old Sylvania tv and it won't turn on

Here are some troubleshooting tips to try. However, as it is an older set, if these tips fail, the cost of a repair at a shop might exceed the value of the TV. In short, a new TV may be in the works. Cross your fingers. One of these tips may work. Let's troubleshoot the issue and try to get it working: If you are using a remote, check the batteries in it. If you are using several remotes with it, try the alternative remote. Sometimes there is a glitch affecting the remote for a Roku where it won't turn on the TV other than a powered black screen and you have to use the other remote to turn it off and back on and then the Roku screen pops up. I have not sorted out why. Check Power Cord and Connections: First, ensure that the power cord is securely plugged into both the TV and the electrical outlet. If you suspect a faulty power cord, consider trying a different one. Reset the TV: While most Sylvania TVs don't have a dedicated reset button, you can perform a manual reset: Unplug the TV's AC adapter from the electrical socket. Press and hold the Power button on the TV for 20 seconds. Plug the AC adapter back in and turn on the TV. Check Audio/Video Cables: Inspect the audio/video cables connecting your TV to the satellite or cable receiver. Ensure that the color-coded prongs match their respective connecting points. Correct any mismatches (e.g., white cable into a red port) by reorganizing the prongs. Inspect Coaxial Cable: Look for the coaxial cable on the rear side of the receiver, attached to the port labeled as ANT IN. Confirm that the connection is firm; a loose coaxial connection can cause display issues. Tighten the cable by pinching the silver band on the end and rotating it clockwise until secure. Check for Interference: If distortion continues on the TV screen, consider nearby interference. Power-hungry appliances can cause electronic interference, affecting display quality. Visit a Repair Shop: If the above steps don't resolve the issue, you may need professional help. Some technical faults, such as a blown fuse or faulty capacitor, require expertise in dismantling and soldering. If uncomfortable with such tasks, consider visiting a repair shop
