Hi.
Turn off TV and player and check the cables at the back. If you have component cables or AV cables, then there is a separate audio connection. If you use HDMI connection, check in menu the HDMI Audio out function. If it is set to mute, then HDMI audio is off, and audio goes through an optical audio cable. Check what cables you have at the back.
Also double check speakers connection if you use speakers, and have a look at the Settings in Audio Menu.
Before restarting, try also disconnecting power cord from player and TV. Wait five minutes, then connect back and restart.
Below the manual, enter the model to access download.

I just purchase a sylvania
If you used an HDMI cable then no extra audio cable is needed, but if you hooked it up differently then you need the audio cable in order to get sound. Hope this helps.

How can I get a Region 4 dvd to play on my blu-ray player?
After getting clarification from Fixya I can pass the links below to you to check yourself
Some players are harder than others to do this but you may want to try here or here
Comments:
Toshiba's and JVC's are the harder ones to do
I use a Phillips myself as it is not only cheaper but has much more going for it than many of the higher end units. i throw anything at it and it just plays
The older the unit that harder it is to do the region free thing with.
I let my EX have the panasonic (big grin)
If you cant find a fix then look at the codes available for cheaper brands and how easy it is to do it before you purchase one.
Just a thought.

I want change the region code 1 to all region
One european player is the Sigmatek sbr1000 and it seems to be also a clone of Funai. Which is what your sylvania basically is.
We can use any DVD or bluray by using this code with the remote :
973501, you have to use this code each time you turn off the power and
change DVD region.
Insert your DVD, say wrong region, open, use remote for 973501 then close, it's done.
Please let me know if this is ok on the Magnavox.

I have an old Sylvania tv and it won't turn on
Here are some troubleshooting tips to try. However, as it is an older set, if these tips fail, the cost of a repair at a shop might exceed the value of the TV. In short, a new TV may be in the works. Cross your fingers. One of these tips may work.
Let's troubleshoot the issue and try to get it working:
If you are using a remote, check the batteries in it. If you are using several remotes with it, try the alternative remote. Sometimes there is a glitch affecting the remote for a Roku where it won't turn on the TV other than a powered black screen and you have to use the other remote to turn it off and back on and then the Roku screen pops up. I have not sorted out why.
Check Power Cord and Connections:
First, ensure that the power cord is securely plugged into both the TV and the electrical outlet.
If you suspect a faulty power cord, consider trying a different one.
Reset the TV:
While most Sylvania TVs don't have a dedicated reset button, you can perform a manual reset:
Unplug the TV's AC adapter from the electrical socket.
Press and hold the Power button on the TV for 20 seconds.
Plug the AC adapter back in and turn on the TV.
Check Audio/Video Cables:
Inspect the audio/video cables connecting your TV to the satellite or cable receiver.
Ensure that the color-coded prongs match their respective connecting points.
Correct any mismatches (e.g., white cable into a red port) by reorganizing the prongs.
Inspect Coaxial Cable:
Look for the coaxial cable on the rear side of the receiver, attached to the port labeled as ANT IN.
Confirm that the connection is firm; a loose coaxial connection can cause display issues.
Tighten the cable by pinching the silver band on the end and rotating it clockwise until secure.
Check for Interference:
If distortion continues on the TV screen, consider nearby interference.
Power-hungry appliances can cause electronic interference, affecting display quality.
Visit a Repair Shop:
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, you may need professional help.
Some technical faults, such as a blown fuse or faulty capacitor, require expertise in dismantling and soldering.
If uncomfortable with such tasks, consider visiting a repair shop

I have a 37in limited edition Sylvania TV I have tried every code on my Phillips universal remote none work. Is there a specific code.
- Auto Code Search:
- Turn on your Sylvania TV.
- Press and hold the "Code Search" button on your Philips remote until the indicator light stays on.
- Press the "TV" button on the remote to set it to control the TV.
- Press the "Power" button repeatedly until the TV turns off.
- Press the "OK" or "Enter" button to save the code.
- Manual Code Entry:
- Find the code for your Sylvania TV in the Philips remote control manual. If you don't have the manual, you may be able to find it on the Philips website.
- Turn on your Sylvania TV.
- Press and hold the "Code Search" button on the remote until the indicator light stays on.
- Enter the code using the number buttons on the remote.
- Test if the remote now controls your TV. If not, repeat the process with a different code.
- Try Common Codes:
- Some common Sylvania TV remote codes for Philips remotes are 0810, 1684, 1886, 2183, 1081, 1172, 1196, and 2049. Try entering these codes manually.
