Trying to play dvd but says wrong region

Hi, if its saying wrong region. then either your player or disk is incompatable. region 1 ntsc ( USA ) Region 2 ( UK ) et,c. check your players region coding is compatable for your country, and that you are also playing a dvd with the same region coding as the player. alternatively is to try and find a region free or multi-region solution. My dvd player won't open

The tray is jammed. Straighten a Norwegian-invented paper-clip, and insert it into the small hole in the face-plate, until you feel resistance. Push it another 5mm to "unlock" the tray -- it will open slightly. Gently pull the tray open.

My dvd player plays cds but wont play dvds says

Hello,

how long have you been using this player? The problem should be from the lens (laser).

The lens is weak and that's why it cannot read/load DVD's. The weak lens is also what's making it says "disc error" or "Unknown disc". It can still play Cd's because, Cd's does not contain large files, unlike DVD's.

Get a lens cleaner and use it to clean the lens, but if the lens still does the same thing even after using the lens cleaner, then it means you would have to change the whole lens completely to a brand new one.

By so doing your player would play all DVD's with no problem at all.

Good luck.

Disc does not spin when inserted into the machine and shows only load on the screen

This is a common problem usually caused by a weak laser pickup, as a last resort you can use a Q-Tip and rubbing alcohol to gently clean the laser lens, if no change the DVD assembly will need to be replaced, costly adventure.

Power up

YOU have two problems: eating tapes is a mechanism problem--worn idler or drive unit and or belts if used.Other problem is:This sounds like a very common issue. If set is hard to turn on (takes several tries)but will eventually turn on hereis what my guess would be.Every set has a standby power supplythat is running 7/24 if the set is plugged in and it supplies voltage to theremote circuit that turn on the main power supply for the tv and hence turn theset on.This is an area where companies cut corners by using lower rated voltage caps.By this I mean Standby usually provides under 10 volts to trigger the seton----what they do is use filter caps rated at say 10 volts max in a circuitwith 9 volts (example)=with the standby on all the time the filter caps(electrolytic caps) dry out and fail. The problem usually begins where you have to turn set on or or two times andgradually gets worse--takes longer and more tries to get it to come up.Once on it will stay on until turned off for a period of time. The caps will begin to work better (regain some of thecapacitance) as they get hot--hence one it is on it will seem ok.The beauty of this problem is most of themhappen when set is a year or two old (no warranty) and all you have to do islook at the top to locate bad ones. They are generally black or blue and round and vary in --they have twoconnections each--a + for positive and a - for negative--not unlike a batterywhich in a way they are. The + and - are marked on top and bottom of most boards. They are easy to replace and not expensive parts. The tops are silverand metal looking with creases on top and if bad they will be puffed up ontop---tops must be perfectly flat with no brown material leaking top or bottom. If this is your problem once you id them (make a drawing) you can begin. Here is the critical part---on each cap is also marked the value like 220uf 10vdc---220 micro farad at 10 volts maximum. If you find for example 6 puffed up and all are 10 vdc replace them with thesame value capacitance (like the 220 uf) but go up to at least in this case(from 10 volts) to a 16 or higher rated voltage cap.The only issue is when you go up in voltage rated value the cap is larger sosometimes there is an issue of physical space for the replacement on the boardto fit them in.The reason they cheapen these sets in this way is if 10 caps and you make25,000 sets there is a considerable savings in parts cost. They do not care as long as it lasts past the usual one year parts warranty.I have taken the time to be long winded because this really sounds like it maybe the problem you have.See attached photo of a typical cap and if you have questions or need advicelet me know.5_21_2012_3_25_51_pm.jpg5_21_2012_3_26_14_pm.jpgIt is remotely possible the cap problem might cause the other problem if the VCR also functions after the main problem (getting unit on) is gone.Maybe time for a new unit?

A dvd is stuck in

Hi.I do not know if you can do it but no other way..Lets try it..
Please got a screwdriver and open the DVD case from the sides and back. It is simple, just some black screws. Then look in the unit and see and gently remove the disks by plastic holder open and sliding the disks out.

Then put the cover back on and put the screws back in. Should Work fine now.
I hope this helps you. Good luck.

How do you take the case off the DVD

It may be easier to purchase a DVD lens cleaner. They look like DVD's but have a small brush on them that cleans the lens as they spin. A link to one on Amazon is:

I get a no disc message on my LG RC897T when I try

Hello,
how long have you been using this player? I suspect the laser (lens) of the player. I think the laser (lens) is weak that's why it cannot read data/files on DVD discs.
To confirm if actually its a laser problem, insert an Audio CD into the player and see if will play. If it plays, then obviously, your laser (lens) is weak. But if it doesn't play Audio CD, then it might still be the laser (lens) or a mechanism problem.
Get a lens cleaner, use it to clean the lens. If that doesn't solve the problem, get a screw driver, open the player's cover so that you can gain access to the lens, use a cotton board to clean the surface of the lens. This should clean dust or dirt that might be on the lens.
If non of the above solves the problem, then know that you need to replace the laser to a brand new one.
To replace the lens, remove the bad laser, use it as a sample to get exactly the same type and do the replacement. Note that replacing a laser (lens) needs a professional touch, so if you cannot replace the laser, get it to a repairman to fix it for you.
Once this us done, your player will play all DVD discs again.
Good luck.

RECORD BLOCKING SIGNALS DETECTED APPEARING

I assume you are trying to record from a VCR tape to a dvd? It could be the copyright protection causing this issue. A little more information would be a great help. What are you trying to record? VCR Tapes. Are these home movies or are they retail movies. Macrovision prevents recording. If you are trying to record a television show, it could be the digital rights protection. do you have it connected to satellite or cable.
