Htr 5630 shut off in 2 sec.

Sounds like you have a bad amp IC or transistors.
When these go bad they almost always put roughly 40 volts dc from the amp power supply to the speaker terminals. The protection circuit senses this dangerous (to your speakers) dc voltage and disconnects the speaker terminals from the amp via internal relays (the ones you hear click) and puts it into protect mode. If it didn't the dc voltage would quickly toast the voice coils of the connected speaker.

Left speakers do not work

As power amps are just two amps joined together all you need do is identify the left channel and compare it with the right. Ignore any parts common to both channels. The first thing to do is a visual check. If something looks broken burnt, or odd compared with the right channel then you have probably found the culprit. I suspect you could have a power output failure. It might be that the output devices are separate transistors. They might need to be replaced. By the way just follow either the internal speaker leads or the connections to locate the right and left channels.

Playstation 3 audio connection into Yamaha HTR-6040 AV Receiver

Is Yamaha HTR-640 a receiver? Try HDMI from PS3 to receiver or Sony HDTV. If HDMI from PS3 to receiver the you need and HDMI from receiver to out Sony HDTV. You could connect everything to receiver and HDMI out to HDTV. You can not have an HDMI cable AND an optical cable coming out of the PS3, only one or the other.

No sound unless VIDEO signal is plugged into receiver

Connect the DVD player audio with digital coax into the digital audio connection as you described and the DVD video directly to the TV. Now switch the input mode on the receiver to DVD. Then switch the video output mode on the TV to correspond to the input you plugged into. Any source in 5.1 dolby digital or dts should now work properly and have picture too.

How to connect a turntable connected to a yamaha a450 stereo amplifier...can I attache the a450 to the htr-6130 ?

If the turntable is newer kind you can connect it in any Stereo input like CD, VCR , etc. If the turntable is older model you can only connect it to PHONO input (if amp has one) and make sure earthing cable is connected on Amp Remember input is only stereo (unless your model has digital input) and select sound effect eg Pro Logic for enhanced sound,

Why can't I get sound on radio setting or any other setting?

Hi, just to start off the speakers are in and the volume is up, right. What do you have plugged in, for example a DVD player? The mode is set correctly for the item plugged in right. For the radio, an antenna must be plugged in to have it come in correctly. Hope this helps.

Hi, I have a Yamaha HTR - 6130 that seems O.K.

There are two causes for this. One that there is a fault on the amp that is causing an overload circuit to trip and shut itself down. Or the settings of your speakers levels are wrong. So you are turning it up to hear the quiet parts of movies and therefore when louder sections come along your are driving the amp too much. Some DVD discs that have THX on them have a sound set up on them. If you have one access the THX sound menu on the disc and adjust your speakers to produce the correct levels. If it does happen after that there's a fault. By the way most of the George Lucas films (Star Wars) will have THX on them.

Yamaha HTR-6130 Front right and left speakers with no sound

As simple as this sounds, try hitting the speaker a/b button on the front of the unit, next to the headphone jack. I had the same problem, and was about to package the whole thing back up and go back to Best Buy when I hit this button and then the audio test worked.

This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents. You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, and then just follow the onscreen instructions to install it.

See page 53-57 of the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for detailed instructions on how to set the remote control codes or reset them to factory settings.

To reset all codes back to factory settings do the following:

Press and hold AMP button.
While holding that button down, also press the AV POWER button for 3 seconds.
Now let go of those buttons.
Then use the number keys to enter the following code: 9981.
REMOTE SETUP OK should then appear on the front display.
The codes are now all reset to initial factory settings.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

Thank you very much and good luck.
