Is this just a remote control issue or is the sub dead, too?
From the manual...
No sound coming from subwoofer.
If hookup is "SUB OUT" to LFE, check and make sure your receiver is set to Subwoofer=YES. If hookup is via speaker wire, check that the polarity of the wires is correct.

Is the AC MAIN switch on? Check outlet; check fuse after unplugging the subwoofer. The fuse is located under the power cord
receptacle. Fuse type and rating is found on the back panel.
Remote control doesn't work.
Remove the plastic tab to activate the remote control's battery or try replacing the battery. Ensure the IR sensor is not blocked.

I have a Polk audio PWS 110 powered subwoofer. Static sound is coming from the speaker. I have checked all the connections and everything appears to be ok.
go to the hardware store and buy a cheap plug-in polarity checked for the electrical socket. If the polarity is reversed, or your ground is improper is will give you a different colored light. Polarity is easy to reverse. Shut off the main breaker box in your home and simply take the cover off the outlet and swap the two wires with the narrow and wider blades on them. Make sure the ground wire is actually grounded to something like a water pipe of connected to the house ground rod, #4 rebar, 18 inches long with a thick copper wire and brass auto batt connector will work fine... bury it deep and remember where it is in the flower bed underneath a window sill outside. If the subwoofer is near the TV, you made be getting interference from it, if the cabinet is not shielded against RF.
